A photographic time capsule of a German city still bearing the scars of war

While visiting Leipzig in 1972, German photographers Ute Eskildsen (born 1947) and Timm Rautert (born 1941) photographed the city together, intending to publish their images in a book. After more than 50 years, the forgotten series is finally available in book form.
