Interesting take on the genre. The author obviously understands the systems and command practices of the direct service. I highly recommend it to those who enjoy sub stories.

I have read quite a few of the sub-stories published over the last few years, and I think this one has finally done something right. You have characters who are believable and actions which fall into line with standard sub operations. I was a little let down by the last few pages ( I can't revela the ending, but you'll see what I mean.......maybe), but overall a good book. I look forward to reading the rest in the series.

VOYAGE OF THE DEVILFISH is simply one of the best submarine novels ever. If you enjoyed THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER, then VOYAGE will not disappoint. The characters are vibrant yet realistic, and the attention to technical accuracy/detail is beyond question. Definitely a MUST READ.
