Wanting (PAVAD: FBI Romantic Suspense, #2) by Calle J. Brookes

Autistic. Foster Child. Runaway.

The cards had been stacked against Special Agent Carrie Sparks almost from the very beginning. But she hadn’t just survived—she’d triumphed. Handpicked by the creator of the FBI’s Complex Crime Unit, Carrie did her job—and she did it well.

Well enough to get noticed…

Leader of the CCU’s Team Three, Supervisory Special Agent Sebastian Lorcan needed help finding a friend’s missing child. Carrie Sparks was the only resource he had.

Carrie wasn’t so sure she wanted anything to do with the man who’d made her nervous from the very first moment they’d met. He was always watching her, judging her.

And she always came up short with him.

Still…a little girl was out there, alone.

Wasn’t that all that mattered?

Carrie agreed to help him because she saw herself in the young runaway. But while they’re searching for Ashleigh, someone else is searching for Carrie.

And what he wanted wasn’t good…

This is one of those books that is really hard to put down. It has mystery, suspense, intrique, humor and romance. This was a free book snd I am very appreciative of being able to read it without paying for it. I may not have ever discovered this author otherwise. I will be looking for more books by this author!

Another Great Carrie has Autism, but she is a terrific computer geek. Sebastian is another team leader at PAVAD, but comes to her for help finding a friends daughter. But out becomes so much more.

Kept your interest with both suspense and romance.

Started with a search for a teenage girl which was intriguing, then the story goes awry - story reference a previous “FBI” case involving several members of the team, as if I should be aware of the team dynamics, this “free ebook” is the follow up. As for the missing teenager & her family, the intrigue was lost, & my interest as well. 2 star rating because it did grab my attention in the beginning, otherwise a 1 star.

Only the use of nick names at times was confusing until I figured out who the person was. Exciting, tense with romance thrown in. Good, good story.

Full of action, deep characters that you will completely get addicted to. Wonderful storyline. Can't wait to start the next book.

This is a great series so far and I do look forward to reading the rest of the books. However, the editing could use some work - many words used had the right pronunciation, but the wrong spelling, which gave an entirely different meaning to the sentence or phrase. Also, I could not figure out why Sebastian constantly referred to Carrie as his "damned woman". I don't think it's complimentary. Just saying.
