I received a free copy of WATERING HARVEST, THE TREASURE HE IS by Susie Michaels from Goodreads First Reads. This is a suitably unpretentious story of 2 fishermen having honest conversations about God. Vessel is a believer, ready to testify to his friend; Harvest, about his spiritual treasures and explains both scripturally and by example as to how Harvest can be filled with this treasure too. It is a story that is more than having the treasure of faith, it includes lessons of forgiveness, grace, salvation, peace, and knowledge, as well as the command that all share the good news of Jesus. Thereby we all can be filling ourselves with uniquely different, yet just as important treasures or gifts from God. This book was an easy read and relies heavily on scriptures (not taken out of context) to illuminate the points made. It uses stories we are all familiar with, and sheds light on how these can be used in real life applications when witnessing to our friends, family and acquaintances. If you are a new believer, or someone searching for answers, the story itself will lead you to the right scriptures to explain and fortify the promises of God. If you are a seasoned Christian, this book will remind you of the road it takes to get there. I think this would be an excellent story to share with a Sunday school class, or within a dedicated missionary group. Discussing God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit should not be an awkward occurrence, but a natural free-flowing conversation. I would also recommend this book to believers who want to testify to someone in their lives.... it is a good way to get the conversation going.  For me, MY biggest stumbling block on my road to faith is the belief and explanation of the Trinity. I had (have) a really hard time believing that Jesus was God made manifest in the flesh. That is BEFORE adding the Holy Spirit to the mix. All three are distinct, but part of the whole, working in unity with a unified purpose. This book really helped shed some light on my personal beliefs.  I give this book 4 stars gladly, and plan to share it with a particular family member who I feel would benefit from the message. It is definitely a keeper. The author was kind enough to include a personal note with the book, it is obvious to me that this book is a very PERSONAL message to her that she eagerly want to share. Well done, Susie.... well done. Happy Reading!

Format: Paperback This is a great, easy read! Very refreshing and light. I would recommend it for people new to the Christian faith or believers who are teaching unbelievers about Jesus. The author also does a great job of including some study material/scriptures for each chapter at the end of the book. I definitely recommend it!
