About the Author
Yuki Obata's debut manga, Raindrops, won the Shogakukan Shinjin Comics Taisho Kasaku Award in 1998. Her current series, We Were There (Bokura ga Ita), won the 50th Shogakukan Manga Award. We Were There was also adapted into an animated television series in 2006.

This entire series has haunted me, years later, I still remember the art, the feelings, and the reality that life doesn't always go the way you want it.
Complicated is right and sad. This manga keeps having those doesn't it? And art expresses that. I had watched the anime first and recalled that part on the train, if I remember right. Still, it's like you can't stop reading and wonder where the story will go next. Good volume.
