First off I laughed so hard I cried and at times I was crying so hard I couldn't catch my breath. All the characters were so believable. Ana is a beautiful girl that feels like she drowning in her small hometown of Sugartown. Her mother had a dream of opening a diner that serves pies and her father dreamt of opening a garage. So they made their dreams come true and their shops were directly across the street from each other. Ana's mother taught her everything she knows about pies and Ana has a knack of mixing things together and making surprising descoveries of new delicious pies. But as you know things don't always turn out the way we expect. One day while working in the shop a gorgeous man on his motorcycle pulls upto her dad's garage across the street. Elijah is a troubled man with secrets that could get him killed if they come out. Holly is Ana's bestfriend and HOLY CRAP is she a crazy spitfire that never stops talking and could make anyone want to pull their hair out. Sammy is Ana's little brother who talks with a lisp. Carmen does an amazing job portraying this lttle boys personality. I LOVE THIS KID! Between Holly and Sam I was laughing so hard I almost peed my pants. Lol! Elijah and Ana have an instant attraction. Elijah tries to resist because of his past and Ana tries to resist because an ex-boyfriend told lies about her in high school that spread like wildfire through her small town. Now everyone thinks she is something she is most definitely not. As they grow closer things start to heat up between them and I mean WOW! I thought my nook was gonna catch on fire. Lol. When Elijah's past comes to town he has to do things that send a shock wave through Ana and then he has to tell her the truth. The trials these two have to go through is enough to make you cringe. The suspense was so intense I couldn't put the book down. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK TO EVERYONE! I can't wait to start the next book.

For free, it was a great read. I enjoyed most of it. I did feel like once it got to a certain point the author lost direction and just winged it til the end. I was hoping for more, but it just didn't read well and exciting til the end.

The story line was good. It did however misrepresent the HellsAngels. The ending was abrupt.

4 Solid Stars TITLE~ Welcome to Sugartown (Sugartown #1) AUTHOR~ Carmen Jenner GENRE~ New Adult-Romance-(semi) Bikers PUBLISHED~ November 3rd 2013 by Createspace  PURCHASED/COST~$0.99 as part of the Born to Ride-A Clubhouse Collection MY RATING~ 4/5 MY THOUGHTS~  I chose to purchase and read this book because it was part of the Born To Ride Clubhouse Collection. I'm on a biker/mc kick right now. I really enjoyed Welcome to Sugartown! It was a great read from cover to cover. The writing was great and well put together. I love reading Aussie books! There are different words and phrases that are used that kind of pull you out of the sometimes over-used American English dialect. Love me some Aussie-talk!! I had seen this book on a "Bikers/MC" list somewhere and that is what originally turned me onto it. However, I wouldn't really classify this as a "Biker" book. Yes, the main male character is a former member of a motorcycle club and the female main character's father is part of a motorcycle club as well, but the story doesn't delve too deeply into either connection. The story line stuck more to the romance and personal issues than most "Biker" books that I've read. So, if you're looking for a gritty dirty biker book, this is not it. If you're looking for a great romance story with a lot of build-up and a more contemporary feel with a bit of "biker" edge thrown in, then this is the book for you. The main male character is very alpha though, so that's a huge plus for me! Additionally, the main female character is a bit of a bad-ass that can ride a souped up Vespa or a Harley and that's awesome as well!! Overall, Welcome To Sugartown was a great read and I will most definitely continue reading this series as is comes out! Carmen Jenner is a wonderful author in my opinion!

This book was no where near what I expected, but it did deliver on a lot of levels. I never would have guessed that Ana was a virgin if it wasn't in the synopsis. The inuendo and banter between she and Elijah had me cracking up and completely held my interest. Elijah comes to town to work for her dad across the street from the shop where she works. Ana's little brother steals the show on several occasions, and that is done brilliantly because little kids do exatly what Sammy did. I love that little guy sooooo much! I was shocked to learn of Elijah's past and the difficulties in his life. I was also unprepared for the turn of events at the bonfire after Ana and Elijah attempt to end their relationship. There were more twists and turns in this story than I could have possibly anticipated. Every twist had relevance to the story. I rated it a little lower based on Ana's behavior toward Elijah the last portion of the book as well as the abrupt ending. I understand what Carmen was doing, but the execution dragged out a little too much for my liking.

This book took me totally by surprise! I read it in one sit... Didn't even bother to eat. BUY IT!! You won't regret it! This story is RAW and strong, is exactly what you look for in a book even if you don't know it. The characters are soooooo real! They have their flaws and make mistakes just like any human would. It is very special cause when read this- you feel like you're there with the characters and you feel for them and with them... The guy is HOT and thank GOD he knows a good thing when he sees it! There are things happening that make you apreciate family and friends cause that is something that is just NOT lacking in this book. After this, i would read anything she writes- no questions ask! :D

4.5 stars! Dark, gritty, and SEXY!!  First off, I must state that this book was not what I thought it would be. It turned into a very gritty, intense and emotional read; I was not expecting the dark edge that developed. However, I really enjoyed the dark intensity of the book.  It made it a more enthralling read. I adore Carmen Jenner! She is a great book blogger friend and an all-around awesome person, so to finally have read her book, was pretty amazing! She really gave me a book I could get lost in, and characters that I really enjoyed. Welcome to Sugartown was an enjoyable read! The dark intensity of the book really did take me by surprise (though I was warned about it beforehand), I wasn’t expecting the turns that this book took. Nonetheless, it was gripping in its story building, and the way that Carmen told her story. So I will warn future lovers of this book, beware, this book will make you emotional unstable at points. And if you don’t like intense, gritty, and dark reads, I would be careful picking this one up. I really did enjoy the characters. It has the perfect mix of that sexy bad boy, and sweet yet tough heroine. Anna is a really strong chick, and I enjoyed that about her. She did want she wanted and be damned what others said. Ana goes through quite a lot when sexy bad boy Elijah enters her world. And, oh gosh, my heart really went out for her, but what is so amazing about this character is her inner strength.  That came shining through in the book and when Ana was faced with some very emotional, hard situations. Elijah, as stated before, is one sexy, tattooed bad boy. And well, he really is a bad boy. I adore bad boys, so of course I did adore this character. He brought in the perfect challenge for the story line, and for Ana. Elijah has quite the demons in his past, but he is trying to start anew. That leads him to Sugartown, and to a pretty blonde that changes his world. Elijah also goes through a lot in this book, and I loved seeing him overcome the challenges he faced. Though he didn’t always make the right choices, and at one point I wanted to beat him with a brick, he did turn around. He really came through for Ana when she needed him. The book is filled with some very entertaining and enjoyable characters. I really liked Ana’s best friend, she added that sassy spunk to the book. And of course I can’t forget Ana’s little brother! He was absolutely adorable! Carmen did a great job in adding a great cast of characters in her book. The romance was definitely steamy! It had a very intense factor and the sexy scenes were well-written. I found the love and the developing romance -though a bit fast paced-to be nice. Ana and Elijah’s love really does get tested, and though it was a lot of drama and angst. It was a fun and emotional to read. The only thing I thought was that the pacing was a bit fast at the beginning, and that some things escalated too fast too soon.  However, once I really got into the book, it got a lot better and before long I was swept away with the story. Welcome to Sugartown is an emotional, dark, edgy, sexy, and gritty read. It had a good balance between sweet and dark. Elijah was intense and raw, and Ana was a girl with a very strong will. The book also held a bit of Sons of Anarchy feel to it, I liked that vibe. I definitely recommend this book to lovers of dark, sexy romances. With intense characters and a very emotional story line.

~Reviewed by FRANCESCA & posted at Under the Covers Book Blog I’m a sucker for a cool cover and this one is so beautiful it captured my attention from the very first time I saw it. I’ll admit I’m not the BIGGEST new adult fan, however I do tend to enjoy quite a few of them. Especially if we’re talking about a bad boy. Then there’s the fact I saw so many great things about this book. I bought it right away! While the cuteness of the story made WELCOME TO SUGARTOWN an enjoyable read, I don’t think it stood out or left me wanting to read more. The heroine is young and it shows in how immature she is at times. Picking fights or well, acting her age. And that’s not a bad thing, just not the thing for me. Then we have the hero, who had the potential of being amazing! Bad boy biker, just got out of jail, has something mysterious about his past. But then the reveal comes and when I thought things would get dicey and entertaining from there, it just fell a bit flat. He’s not the badass bad boy I was expecting from people's reviews. He is adorable and falls hard for the girl, pretty much at first sight. Which brings me to my third issue. Insta-love. While not quite insta-love more like insta-lust with a very fast jump to the love part. Elijah and Ana have what I would consider a typical young love infatuation type of relationship, which was cute to read about and sometimes their personalities got on my nerves a bit. If you are a fan of new adult in general you will probably enjoy this! It’s more on the sweet side than the badass. But if you are like me and would like your characters to be a bit more grown up even if they are young in age, then you may find a few things a bit frustrating.

My review for Welcome to Sugartown , by Carmen Jenner ©LexyPat Storries     ¿This is one Bloody Beaut of a debut! ¿      I want to thank Carmen Jenner and her whole team of supporters who helped her when she needed to get this story out of her head, because Sweet Baby Jesus, Welcome to Sugartown, is hands down, one of the best stories I’ve read, and believe me I have read a lot! I don’t know what it is about Aussie authors. It must be in the water or the air or more accurately an innate quality that runs in the blood, but they have a way of telling stories that grab you by the neck and never let go! I was brought into a small town world that could be any small town in the world and was first pushed into the most hilarious dialog that had me hiding so I wouldn’t continue to scare whoever happened to be around me by the constant OUTBURSTS of laughter. Then I was pulled into a box that  was filled with so much passion and longing that I was bursting at my seams, only to be thrown into a pit of despair so dark and tragic that I was brought to tears. Thank all that’s good, Carmen brought me back to a safe place only to once again make me feel the longing for someone so intense that I had to shake myself to come out of my shell when I had to put the book down. ( Believe me, I only did that twice and was not a happy person and all I kept thinking about was pies, tattoos, crazy friends, smart a$$ comments, family, love, betrayal, and of course counting down the hours when I could get back to Sugartown.)       Welcome to Sugartown, is an excellent, well written story that flows so fast, yet you feel like you’ve been there forever. If you like quirky female leads partnered with a sassy side-kick, make that two sassy side-kicks,( insert younger brother so freaking cute) inked up hot as hell alpha males, bikes, MC clubs, pie, and of course deep dark secrets that can and will catch up to you, then Welcome to Sugartown is the choice for you! You will not be disappointed from this 5 STAR  Romantic Comedy. One thing is for sure, I am hopelessly waiting for more from Carmen Jenner who has been tearing up the charts with this nugget of deliciousness! Well Done!

This was a great book, I couldn't put it down. I would have given it 4 stars but it had a lot of formatting errors where I couldn't read parts of the story. It usually happened at the start of a new chapter.
