Although debt does not have a face of course, it has the face of everyone who owes. Every "debtor" discourages it from their thought and always finds it before them, inside them, beside them. In order to deal with it effectively, one must first capture its abstract impersonal dimension and significance, not so much the real one. That's the point where we lose our battle with it, because while it is completely abstract, it is completely personal. And it is as abstract as it is personal.
