I absolutely loved this book and can't wait to read more by the author. I grew up in polygamy, but I didn't experience this kind of abuse. However, I knew that it went on. Heartbreaking! My father, mothers, brothers and sisters are all good people. It's so sad for me to read what this lifestyle did to her family. Like Susanna and her husband, my husband and I chose not to practice. I listened to Susanna on some of her radio interviews and she is amazing. Coming out of that belief system and being so forgiving is no small feat, believe me. I work on it everyday and I had a fairy tale childhood compared to hers. Do yourself a favor and read this book. It will toucn you deeply.

Susanna Barlow is the 23rd child of 46 born into a polygamist sect who captures you with her own memoir of growing up in the heart of Salt Lake City hiding the secrets of what went on behind the closed doors so close to her neighbors. Her writing brings you right into the heart of her home and experiences. This is a book I have recommended to many and been thanked for telling them about it. SG

I LOVED READING THIS BOOK!!! I just could NOT put it down! I read while I worked, I read while I walked, while I shopped, while I was driving, while I was in class, I read until there was no more to read! There are SO many different emotions! My heart was poring out to the characters in so many ways. I was almost to tears part of the time, in happiness and in sorrow. My mind was opened to a clearer point of view. I was VERY impressed about the religion taught, realization was far beyond words. It gave me a greater outlook on life and made me care more for my own family. I will definitely be reading this book a second time! ^_^
