Where the Night Ends by Melissa Toppen – 4 Stars Life is not a fairy tale… Where the Night Ends by Melissa Toppen is the story of firsts. First love, first car, first realization that life is not a fairy tale, first everything in the young lives of Tessa and Sebastian. This is a coming of age story that is full of angst and emotion. It’s a true love story from the very first meeting. It’s the story of how it “only takes one night – one moment, one choice – to change the entire direction of your life”. I enjoyed reading this story. It reminded me of my own first love and the friends that I had in high school. I wonder if anyone’s young love looks “like the poster children for a (word redacted) teenaged Hallmark™ movie”. I have read Melissa Toppen’s books before and will again in the future. She has well developed characters and moves the story along nicely. I would recommend this book to my younger cousins as it’s an appropriate YA novel for them to read.

Where the Night Ends by Melissa Toppen is about young love, true love and if it is worth fighting for. This is my first story by this author and I enjoyed it fully. Her writing style and creativeness make the story engaging until the end. Her characters are true to life and really just pop off the page. They will make you feel like you are right there with them. They will take you on a roller coaster of emotions that you won't want to miss. They will show you that true love may just exist and it may be just worth fighting for. Find out what happens to these characters as their relationship starts as a young love but as adults could their bond be stronger? Tess Wilson is sixteen years old and has just been taught that it only takes one night, one moment, one minute to change everything. He taught her that, among other things. He has never had to work for her heart. In some unexplained way, it has always belonged to him. They spent years hurting each other, trying to forget each other but not matter how long, it just never seems to happen. She just can't erase him from her memory, his smile, his touch, these things are embedded into her brain, tattooed on her skin, built into her heart. Some may think that Sebastian Baxter and my story is done but deep down she knows that it is only just beginning. Tess and Sebastian's relationship is one of young love. He is a little older then her but it started when she was just sixteen. They have had many struggles, how many times can a heart be broken before it is no longer functional. Their love is tough even when they were not together or going through heartbreak. You will go through the same emotions that they do and you will want to hang on as it is certainly a ride you don't want to miss. These characters are strong considering what they put each other through. Their love is strong and the bond is tight, just when you think that they are done, fate steps in and changes things. He is charming, gorgeous, and honest. She is smart, sweet and loyal to those that she is with. Together they just make this story flow into something beautiful work of art. Find out if these two ever find their HEA? Will they make it through together between all their struggles? What will their fate have in store for them? Will they have a future together? This is my first story by Melissa Toppen and I know it won't be the last. Melissa lives in Ohio with her husband and two children. She is a lover of books and enjoys nothing more then to lose herself in a good book. She has a soft spot for romance which where she focuses her writing at. You will enjoy how fast paced this story is. It will pull you into their world of young love and keep you engaged until the end. I couldn't put this story down until the last page. I would have a box of Kleenex next to you cause you just might need it. I highly recommend this book as I know you will want to see what happens with these two as much as I did. You won't want to miss their story!
