Why does this story remind me exactly like another series. .?

Great Build up! A short story with a whole lot of suspense, heated sex and great hunks. And it ended in a cliffhanger. Well, no need to worry I have book 2...smile. The way the story build's up really captures your attention from the very first page. Suspense that continues to grow as you learn more about Kate, Nick and Jaxon. The author had done a lot of research on the subject of BDSM, making this a very believable read. Her descriptive writing colors each scene so that it feels you are with Kate as she investigate this murder. You want to know what's going to happen next so you keep on turning the page just to be pulled in deeper into the intrigue and drama of the plot. I cannot wait to start with book 2 in this series and learn more about Kate, her past and the choices she has made to solve the mystery. Thanks for an enjoyable read.

I one-clicked this serial because Braine @Talk Supe loved it so much and I have to commend her for the recommendation. :) This first installment of White Collared grabbed me at page one and didn't let go. I'm choosing to read this serial in the same way I'd watch a movie or t.v. show - eh, some of the things maybe wouldn't happen in real life but they make for some great drama.  Kate Martin is an ambitious, third year law student with a scary past she's hiding from. As an intern at a prestigious law firm, she's working for the man who's served as her inspiration while in law school. She keeps a tight rein on everything in her life - she wants control. When Nicholas Trenton requests she join him in litigating a high profile case, she would never have imagined what she was about to become a part of. Nick is a brilliant civil attorney who is now representing his best friend, Jaxon Deveroux, in a criminal case - the murder of his wife, Alyssa. The case seems cut and dry, but when Jaxon's sexual proclivities are made known, the case become very complicated. And Kate is asked to step way out of her comfort zone in order to gather evidence. Between the haunting memory flashbacks, the present danger Kate is putting herself in, and the sparks flying between Kate, Nick, and Jaxon, Marcy was a gripping read. Ms. Bell gave the right amount of information on everyone to keep me wondering what was going on. And I can't wait to find out!

You're both horrified and intrigued right from the first chapter. A well written combination of erotica and murder mystery.

Holy Hannah! As my introduction into the works of Shelly Bell, I'd have to say... MORE! For the first installment, White Collared: Mercy did an excellent job setting up the rest of the series. Mercy focuses mostly on Kate and her relationships with the people in her life. I love Kate. Something unknown happened to her in the past and she is still greatly affected by it. While she's trying to control her emotions about what happened in the past, she's dealing with some pretty harsh events that take place in Mercy. Throughout Mercy, Kate finds herself in a new position. Should she stick to her vanilla relationship with Tom or should she explore what BDSM and sex has to offer with Nick or Jaxon?  I sped through Mercy and it pained me to put it down. I wanted to read through the next three parts of the book, but I'm pacing myself. We'll see how long that lasts... I love the BDSM elements in Mercy. Its not over the top. Kate is willing to dive into the lifestyle to help solve a murder. It helps that she's intrigued about being what it is like to be a sub. This novella was hot. Not just the sex scenes, but the descriptions of Kate's desires towards Nick and Jaxon. Yum! As for the thriller elements, I can't comment on that yet because it really wasn't focused on in Mercy. We know about the murder and how violent it was, but that's really it. I'm looking forward to how it plays out in the next installment.
