This book is perhaps the most fantastic book I have ever read on the subject of astrophysics. It comprises the newest discoveries about the nature of space, the universe, and the earth, and methodically arrives at the most staggering conclusions as to why the universe has to be exactly the way it is, in terms of age, composition, and so forth. The mind-blowing and provable conclusion is that every single detail from the Big Bang to the Big Rip has been impeccably designed by a generous Creator simply for the welfare of human beings. Dr. Ross' scientific explanations are exquisitely clear as is his retelling of the history of astrophysics and the progression of scientific thought over the centuries. He answers questions one has endlessly puzzled over despairing of any explanations because the latest discoveries in astronomy, during the past couple of years, have thrown everything into a new and greater perspective, with subsequent magnificent conclusions. This is an extraordinary achievement and will change your view of God and the universe and our earth forever! I plan to reread it, have already given one copy away, and plan to give it to others. It ends the silly historical antipathy between science and religion with hard cold facts. It may perhaps be the most important book you will ever read!

Excellent book that brings the science of the universe together with the Christian faith. I thought the first third of the book was a little too repetitive. There was a constant reference back to how the universe finely tuned for the existence of human life. I understand the importance of establishing this point as the basis of the argument for design by a Creator. It just began to feel like being beat over the head. What I found impressive and inspiring were the references to biblical scripture that seem to address questions about Earth and the universe. I found myself wondering how I missed these passages in my readings of the Bible!! Overall, I enjoyed this book very much. It is reaffirming, uplifting and inspiring in its way of bridging science and faith while still leaving the reader full of hope.
