In the last two decades of the 18th Century, a young man from Yorkshire was elected to the British Parliament. His name was William Wilberforce. He was ambitious to make a name for himself. He could speak with ease and with clarity, and was marvelous in debate.

And he was well connected. He was allied with many young men, also entering Parliament at that time. But his closest friend and ally was William Pitt, soon to be the Prime Minister of England.
