Panamanian leopard shifter Connor Vega was with a special ops team on a dangerous assignment when he met Borneo native Isabeau Chandler. They both feel the attraction between them; but he is well aware that she is his eternal mate while she remains ignorant to that because she is unaware of even being a shifter; as she has never changed. When her beloved adopted father died during the assault, she believes her beloved betrayed her. Connor's gut rips with his mate's rejection and animosity; her loathing of him is killing him slowly. In the Panama rainforest that Connor once called home, international smuggler Imelda Cortez abetted by rogue shifters abducts children as hostages. Isabeau asks for Connor and his unit to intervene as she wants the best to save the children. Connor realizes he has a personal vendetta on this mission and a heartfelt need to win over his love even as Isabeau is about to do her first shift. However, as both struggle with desire, neither anticipated another betrayal from within. The fourth Leopard shifter paranormal romantic thriller (see The Awakening, Burning Rain and Wild Rain) is an action-packed tale in which betrayal plays a major role. Connor struggles to survive deadly scenarios in the field, but it is his soul mate's loathing that is burning his heart. Fans will enjoy the rumble in the jungle as Christine Feehan provides a heated entry in her exciting series. Harriet Klausner

So far I have not found a book written by Christine Feehan that I do not like, and this one is no exception. I do have to say there were parts that I laughed out loud, and other parts where I cried. It took me all of three days to read. I just couldn't seem to put it down. Great book!!! They are best read in order, for anyone who has not read the others it may take a while to catch on. You will not be disappointed if you purchase this book!

For whatever reason the books in this series start off well enough but loose steam. I like a little more romance in the books I read and this book seemed to jump around a little to much for my liking. I don't think I'll continue this series

I have been pleasantly surprised by Christine Feehan's Leopard series. Now that I have read each installment that has been published so far, I don't know what took me so long to jump on board! I love Feehan's other series': the Carpathian, Ghost Walkers, and Sea Haven series', and the novels about the leopard-people are every bit as good.Wild Fire is an exciting and interesting read. Despite being noticeably darker and with some difficult (and at times, down-right ugly) subject-matter, I fell in love with the main characters Conner and Isabeau. The chemistry between these two is explosive, and the emotional baggage they carry around around, heavy and desperate. I don't think either one could have made it much longer in life without the other one.As with Feehan's other series, I find myself longing for another story - guessing and anticipating the direction she will take, and wishing for stories about some of the other leopards we have met along the way in this series. I will definitely be picking up the next book in the series just as soon as it becomes available. Christine Feehan's stories are guilty pleasures not to be missed!

Altho some books I like more than others, I must admit, I do like this one a lot. I don't like that he betrayed her and she had to do the coming back to him part, but I like that (Spoiler ALERT!!)-even when she gets seriously physically injured, he puts her first and is also sincerely remorseful regarding the prior initial pain he caused her.. A wonderful exciting, suspenseful, loving, hot hot hot, Leopard Series Book!!!

My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!! ***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!! I own this book in paperback, and it is the 4th book in the series and a full novel. This is for adults only due to the steamy content. This is another action packed book with all the dangers of South America and shifters. If you hadn’t guessed I’m working on reading this whole series. I’ve previously read a few, but never reviewed them. I love the steamy scenes in the rainforest, but I really love that there is plenty of action and intrigue to go with the scenes. I didn’t want to put the book down. I really like Conner, and I understand the trouble Isabeau had with his work and why she is conflicted at the start. Christine Feehan always weaves a wonderful tale especially where paranormal and romance come together. I can’t wait to see whose story is next though I hope to see my favorites again and maybe find out what happens with Mateo and his kitten. I highly recommend this to all the fans of Feehan and especially to those who love big cats and shifters!

A passionate installment to the Leopard series. I liked Conner and Isabeau's back story, it pulled me in and kept me emotionally involved. Their story of coming back together in order to save a group of kids who were kidnapped by a drug lord was action packed and hopeful. I was rooting for Conner to win back Isabeau and enjoyed the ride that Feehan created. I loved seeing Rio again, so far his story is my favorite I think, but I liked getting to know Conner who I met in Jake's book. The love story was gripping and intense at times and I was so glad to see their happy ending, especially their wedding! Loved that whole scene.
