Overview

Wild Hearts (Lines in the Sand, #2) by Lindsay Detwiler

This sexy cowboy is out of his element. He doesn’t want commitment, but Jodie Ellison is a force of nature who can’t be ignored.

Jodie Ellison loves wild parties, chaotic fun, and spontaneity in her hometown of Ocean City, Maryland. With her writing career and waitressing job not quite paying the bills, Jodie desperately needs a new roommate and finds herself in a nightmarish situation when her roomie turns out to be a disastrous choice.

The wild and unruly Levi Creed is a little bit rebel and a whole lot of sexy. When he moves in next door to Jodie, things get a bit tumultuous thanks to a squawking parrot and a dangerous fire pit. It seems like Levi’s adorable Texan drawl and perfect body can’t possibly win over Jodie… or can they?

An undeniable chemistry simmers between the unlikely pair. The beach babe and the sexy cowboy soon find themselves asking: Can they tame their wild hearts and commit to the blossoming romance between them?

About the Author

A high school English teacher, an author, and a fan of anything pink and/or glittery, Lindsay's the English teacher cliché ; she love cats, reading, Shakespeare, and Poe.

She currently lives in her hometown with her husband, Chad (her junior high sweetheart); their cats, Arya, Amelia, Alice, and Bob; and their Mastiff, Henry.

Lindsay's goal with her writing is to show the power of love and the beauty of life while also instilling a true sense of realism in her work. Some reviewers have noted that her books are not the “typical romance.” With her novels coming from a place of honesty, Lindsay examines the difficult questions, looks at the tough emotions, and paints the pictures that are sometimes difficult to look at. She wants her fiction to resonate with readers as realistic, poetic, and powerful. Lindsay wants women readers to be able to say, “I see myself in that novel.” She wants to speak to the modern woman’s experience while also bringing a twist of something new and exciting. Her aim is for readers to say, “That could happen,” or “I feel like the characters are real.” That’s how she knows she's done her job.

Lindsay's hope is that by becoming a published author, she can inspire some of her students and other aspiring writers to pursue their own passions. She wants them to see that any dream can be attained and publishing a novel isn’t out of the realm of possibility.

I’m not going to lie I devoured Wild Hearts like someone on a diet saying they just want one potato chip and then suddenly the whole bag is gone. One sitting I read this book in one sitting. So if you plan on having any plans at all don’t start this book… because you will have to cancel them!! We are back at the beach and I have never been more exited!! I fell in love with Jodie’s character in book #1 of the Lines in the Sand series. She came into that book with such sass and spunk but you knew there was just a little more to her character than that. Jodie is such a free spirit she seems to fly by the seat of her pants. I really enjoy that about her character because I am the complete opposite. She’s trying to navigate her new “grown up “ life when a new noisy neighbor moves in next door… of course you can guess where it goes from there! I honestly really, really enjoyed Levi’s character, at first I wasn’t sure. He seemed very typical romance character guy in a book. Then a couple chapters in he really won me over, he’s not the typical romance cliché. I loved his sense of adventure in this book; his bird only liking Johnny Cash was hilarious. The fact that he really did just take everything with a grain of salt and did just try to live for the moment was nice. I LOVED that the whole crew was back from the first book. (disclaimer you do not need to read the first book to read the second) This crew reminds me of a bunch of friends you see when you are out and about that makes you jealous that you aren’t out with your close friends. These are lifelong friends… forever friends.

Wild Hearts From the first moment Jodie met Levi all because of the squawk of Johnny Cash the chemistry was there. In the beginning the tension from hatred turned into a love story over time. Many hilarious scenes take place. A cowboy on the beach is definitely something to see. I love that Henry appears in each and every book this author writes. Great writing that makes you long for more. Looking for another book to finish this love story.
