(Lone Wolf, Book 1)

Agent Sherri Walker needs a change of scenery. Her former lover nearly tanked her career, forcing her to take a leave of absence. A few drinks and a one-night stand with a sinfully hot stranger look like a great way to take her mind off her troubles, until that stranger’s past lands her in a new world of danger.

Asher Hughes left his outlaw pack but couldn’t ditch the bad blood. A lone wolf who’s always refused to bond, Ash is left wanting more after one night with a beautiful, spirited human. Worse, it puts Sherri in the crosshairs of an old pack enemy, and the only way to save her is to claim her as his own.

It was phenomenal! Ash is a great hero. He is super rough and tough, but has his soft qualities too. Everything was very well balanced and I really enjoyed him. I thought Sherri was great too! It was cool to see her take a walk on the wild side. One of my favorite things about this story was how you could tell Ash and Sherri each had a complicated history. They are mentioned in the book, but do not overshadow the craziness that the two experience in just a couple of days. Everything was exciting...the story, the characters, the dialogue, the body language. It was all done very well! I really really really hope this is the beginning of a series. I'm not ready to let these characters go just yet. I received this story in exchange for an honest review.

Agent Sherri Walker had been betrayed by her ex boyfriend Ryan and had been demoted and transferred but she at least help put Ryan in prison. Now Sherri has two weeks of forced leave of absence to get her head straight before going back to work. When at the bar Sherri notices a biker come in and start trouble with the bartender then the biker comes to sit at Sherri’s table with some whiskey and apologizes for the interruption of her evening. Ash is a werewolf but he is no longer affiliated with a pack as he had a fight with his father about the illegal dealings of the pack. Ash is now a respectable business owner. Sherri decided to forget her rule dedicated life for a night and sleeps with Ash. Sherri is kidnapped by Ash’s former pack and he feels he has to help her or she will be sold as a slave. I like this story a lot felt for Sherri though. She was definitely having a bad year. Thank goodness there was Ash. For a novella it told a complete story as far as I am concerned. Also thank you for no cliffhangers. I like the characters the bad guys are really bad that is for sure it’s good to not like them at all. Also all the twists and turns Sherri goes through was amazing. And Ash also. I recommend. I received an ARC of this story for an honest review.

Typical "were" romance/adventure. Nothing really special about it, just a good fantasy escape for your down time, but author is a talented writer. My only complaint , and it is petty, is the book cover. It looks cheesy and photo shopped - but my real disapointment is the male model himself... He is scrawny of build, not the "tall broad shouldered" biker described in the novel. Lets be honest, we all want the hot, built, alpha model photo to set the mood when we read these trashy books!

Good story, but not up to Staab’s usual work.

first book by this author i have read. Really enjoyed this beginning to series. Writing was very good, characters very likable, has a good storyline. Author has written shifters different than other paranormal books i have read.I will be getting next in series.

I enjoyed the story but felt there was a great deal of lost potential. Important details were glaced over and left dangling. The pace and premise of the story was well thought out, which I liked.

Wild Nights with a Lone Wolf, Elisabeth Staab Genre:  Romance, Fantasy/Paranormal Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews This is a shortish book at around 160 pages. That works for many readers though, like a friend of mine who has limited time and says she really wants to finish a book, while still remembering how it started ;-) For me though, I prefer longer ones to give a more in-depth story. Still, its well written, and the characters and plots are very clear. I liked the intensity between Sherri and Ash, I could feel the pull of attraction. They’re both wary of anything more than a quick one nighter but once they are together they find it hard to switch off thoughts of the other and move forward. This brings them into some very real dangers. The length restrictions mean its a fairly simplistic read, with one main plot, some danger and lots of steamy sex scenes. They were well written and fitted perfectly. The bad guys too, they were well drawn, and I found it easy to dislike them and want for Sherri and Ash to succeed in their endeavour to get through the dangers safely. Its a standalone story, no cliff-hangers ( hurrah!) and I could see more books coming from these characters. Its labelled Book One so I’m assuming there are more to follow. Certainly the characters are strong enough to stand up to more books.   Stars:  Four, a decent though short read.  ARC provided by Netgalley and publishers
