Overview

Wind Chime Summer by Sophie Moss

Since leaving the Army six months ago, Izzy Rivera has closed herself off from everyone and everything. Struggling with a debilitating case of PTSD, she has been fired from three jobs and was recently arrested for assault. Her last hope is a rehab program for veterans on Heron Island, which she was admitted to on a probationary basis and which she must complete to stay out of jail.

After establishing an illustrious career as a marine biologist, Ryan Callahan has returned to Heron Island to open a nonprofit to save the Chesapeake Bay and help his father-a fourth-generation waterman-expand his oyster farm. As one of the primary employers for the veterans' center, Ryan is counting on his new workforce to make the merging of these two operations a success.

But Ryan underestimated the challenges of employing a group of physically and psychologically wounded veterans-particularly the female Army veteran who wants nothing to do with his nonprofit, his father's farm, or the peaceful island that's supposed to help her heal. Can Ryan find a way to convince Izzy to believe in something again? Or will the shell she's built around her heart trap her in the past forever?

I truly enjoyed reading this series. Can't wait for the next one!

I lost interest in this book pretty quick. I am more interested in a romance/love story than I am learning out the crabbing industry. The love story was slow to get started. I got to page 80 and didn’t go further. I really enjoyed the first two books in this series, and number three just didn’t do it for me.

I've read the three Wind Chime books , and wish there were mre. I don't think the "Selkie" books hold much interest for me. I will, however, look for others by this author.

Windchime Summer tells the story of Izzy, a young veteran suffering from PTSD. You'll fall in love with the island and with those who live there. I enjoyed this book (as well as the first 2 of the Windchime series). ***** esk 11/2017 *****

I read all 3 and enjoyed them immensely. Couldn't wait to finish one so I could start on the next one. I hope the next book in the series (Wind Chime Cottage) comes out soon.

I have read all three of this series. All wonderful stories. Connected but easily stand alone stories. Each story is completely its own. And wonderful. Wind Chime Summer is romantic. Its uplifting. You cant help but hope for the characters trying to get their lives back in order. Not just the main characters. Not to mention how much I learned about oyster farming. I didn't even know there was such a thing. Fascinating.
