This is one of the best historical fiction stories I have read. The characters are well developed. The story stays interesting and suspensful. It has several elements that all come together at the end.
One story concerning the plight of the Jewish people in Poland during World War II. I enjoyed the unexpected twist and turns of this book. Horrific but engaging. I didn't want it to end, wanted to learn more about the characters. I would recommend it to anyone interested in this subject.
Captivated is not the word: I was captured by this historical fiction. That is, I was so caught up, I read it without stopping. It has been a very long time since a book riveted my attention to this degree. If you like well written historical fiction set in Poland in WWII, this is a must read.
This book started out a little slow but I am so glad I kept reading....it is a really good story and I couldn't wait to find out what happened. The twists and turns remind me a little of Jodi Picoult. I will recommend this to my friends.
