Overview

Hot on the ice and tall in the saddle...

Rancher and hockey coach Logan Rivers' attempts to hire a housekeeper are hindered by women more interested in marriage than meal-planning. So when snarky Harper Evans arrives with zero romantic interest in him, he couldn't be happier. But as he gets to know her, he finds himself hungering for more than her cooking.

Down-on-her-luck single mom Harper Evans came to Colorado with one goal: to find her son and bring him home. Temporary work for a local rancher seems perfect, but to keep the job she has to deny her feelings for the hot cowboy who's heating up her kitchen.

Logan's secret learning disability has caused a financial mistake that could cost him everything. With the holidays approaching and a storm closing in, he and Harper have to save his ranch and fight for her son. But can Harper trust the cowboy who is offering her both a home—and his heart?

Miracle at River Gulch❤ I would not push my luck and say "Can things get worse?" if I were Harper. This poor woman has had a run of bad luck, bad decisions, and isn't too trusting of anyone else or even herself. All she wants is a fresh start with her son, Floyd. Logan, contrary to what he denies about not being Eeyore, really kinda is lol, except he's a handsome cowboy. He's had no good luck ever, with women, until he meets and hires Harper. These two needed some miracles and this small town helped provide some of them. A sexy, intense whirlwind love that neither thought they wanted, along with quite a few obstacles to knock out, the major one being trust. A fairly fast read, tho again with a few thoughts and scenarios reiterated more than I needed, but still a good read with all the feels. A happy Christmas ever after with new traditions to carry on

Wish Upon a Cowboy by Jennie Marts is book number four in the Cowboys of Creedence series. This is Logan Rivers and Harper Evans’ story. Another great read by this author. I love the humor and intense chemistry this author brings to the story that I can’t put it down. Logan and Harper’s characters were so much fun. You can’t help but falling in love with them. A great way to escape from daily stress. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Never read a Jennie Marts book I didn’t enjoy. Nice easy book to read. I read in one day. I loved the characters and the story. If you’re going on a trip and need to pick up a book, I suggest this book.

Logan and Harper are everything I’ve hoped for since book one of this series. Marts is a master at creating the perfect compliments to her characters and Harper is no exception. Their holiday romance is my favorite of this year. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.

Karma has not been nice to Harper Evans, but she isn’t letting that stop her. She is a very strong female character that got caught up in a bad situation. You can feel the love for her son on the pages, and her determination to anything and everything she can for him are what really won me over. It didn’t hurt that she was willing to sacrifice for others - the true holiday spirit. And I was happy when karma finally came calling back to deliver her rewards. Part of her reward was a whole slew of new friends, starting with the waitress at the diner who talks her into trying for a job as a housekeeper for a local rancher, Logan. Logan is sick of housekeepers trying to turn themselves into his girlfriend. Reading the last evening with his most recent one was hilarious and quite messy in a not-fun way. He’s your typical tough guy rancher. I don’t think he was as unique a character as Harper, but definitely a good guy through and through. They have a lot to work through, the biggest being Harper not mentioning her past or her child when they first become close. She’s certain it will be the end of everything for them. The town and its citizens were amazing. I loved all the unique characters and personalities. Some surprised me, and some were a bit more expected, but they made a community that I’d love to be a part of more often. **I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book**

He needs a housekeeper but all the woman he hires are more interested in marriage than meal-planning, so Logan Rivers couldn’t be happier when snarky Harper Evans arrives with zero romantic interest in him but as he gets to know her he finds himself hungering for more. She came to Colorado with one goal: to find her son and bring him home and the temporary job for a local rancher seems perfect but she has to deny her feelings for the hot cowboy who’s heating up her kitchen. This hockey playing cowboy is one sexy rancher and the chemistry is hot enough to melt the ice. A great holiday romance that warms the heart while bring joy and cheer to the season. The characters are strong, compelling and easily draw the readers into their story and the relationship between Logan and Harper is rife with emotional turmoil that makes them come to life while the magnetic attraction between the two makes it obvious that they belong together and these two wounded souls could heal each other and reach that happily ever after that everyone yearns for. The plot is steady paced and keeps readers glued to the pages and Harper keeps her secrets hidden even while she fights for the return of her son, she takes some knocks but still has the ability to make time and do things for others that warms the heart and makes her heroine that readers can get really get a feel for while the hero is super sexy with a vulnerability that he believes makes him less than desirable which tugs at every heart string that readers have in this emotionally gripping, & heartwarming holiday romance.

Thanks goes to the publisher, via Net-Galley, for the opportunity to read and review Wish Upon a Cowboy, Book 4 in the Cowboys of Creedence series, in advance of publication. My opinions are my own and are not influenced in any way. This is the first book I’ve read by Jennie Marts, but it will not be the last. Wish Upon a Cowboy grabbed me from the first page, and I remained enmeshed in this story until the end. While this romance is filled with laugh-out-loud moments, it has plenty of deep emotional writing as well. Harper Evans is an endearing character. She stole my heart when she’s willing to pay for a little boy’s meal, knowing she could only afford a bowl of soup for herself. Harper keeps giving throughout the story. Although she knows she can’t stay, she also can’t resist the hero. Logan Rivers is an amazing character. He’s a bit shy and emotionally-scared from his mother’s rejection and abandonment because of his learning disability, which has plagued him all his life. The last thing he wants is a woman trying to get his attention, so when Harper shows up applying for the housekeeping job and shows no reaction to him, he relaxes his guard and hires her. Although he’s attracted to her, he is determined to resist her. I loved that he lost his battle! The romance between Harper and Logan is sweet. When they come together, I wanted to stand up and cheer. They are so prefect for each other. They really deserved to find each other and their happy ending. If you enjoy heartwarming Christmas stories with characters that will steal your heart and a unique plot, then you will love Wish Upon a Cowboy as much as I did. I will be going back and reading the books that came before this one. Happy reading!

This is the fourth book in the series but the first I have read of the series and this author. Each book can be read as a standalone. I liked the book. Harper and Logan were so good together. Harper needed a job while she was looking for her son and Logan needed a temporary housekeeper. They had good chemistry between them. With each other’s help, they will be able to get what they are looking for and to find the love that they have been needing but not really looking for. I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

Jennie Marts writes fantastic stories including different characters dealing with life issues that have you empathising with them in their struggles and cheering them on to succeed. That is particularly true in this heart warming story in which Harper Evans is determined to honestly regain custody of her beloved eight year old son, Floyd, after her own mother's activities had landed her in jail. She's learnt not to trust others but in Creedence she finds people who befriend her, help her and trust her. However, that's not enough for her late husband's mother, who is determined to keep custody of her grandson and to keep him away from Harper. Logan Rivers is a rancher and the coach for the children's hockey team. He has serious problems with staff until a friend brings Harper to help him. As the two get to know each other, the attraction between them grows. However, both have secrets that they are reluctant to share. Can they learn to trust each other with their worries and with their hearts? You'll just have to read it for yourself to find out! This is a moving story with fantastic characters facing struggles alone - until they learn to help each other. It is a lovely story of community, friendship, support and romance that I didn't want to put down and have no hesitation in highly recommending. I requested and was gifted a copy of this delightful book via NetGalley and this is my honest review after choosing to read it.

This is a wonderful holiday romance with endearing characters Harper and Logan both have issues and aren't interested in a relationship but, in coming together they will find more than they ever hoped for. This is an emotional tale that will pull on your heartstrings.

I love this series but Wish Upon a Cowboy is my favorite of all of them, There was just something about the characters in this book and the story line that drew me in and just tugged a little at my heart strings. You have Logan who is not only hot but a little unsure of himself. Then you have Harper who is a single mom who also has a few fears. You put them together and you have yourself chemistry! You also have yourself a fantastic read that will stay with you for days after you are finished reading the book. Thanks Net Galley. . I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an honest review.

Wish Upon A Cowboy is a fabulous Christmas western romance by Jennie Marts. Ms. Marts has provided readers with a well-written book. The characters are outstanding and just plain lovable. Harper is a widow and single mom when her mother asks for her help. Before she can fix what her mother got her into she finds herself in the county jail for two months. Logan has had to fire his housekeeper/cook and now needs a new one...enter Harper. Logan and Harper's story is loaded with drama, humor, spice, action and suspense. I enjoyed every page of this book and can't wait to read more from Jennie Marts. Wish Upon A Cowboy is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Hurray for hunky cowboys! Jennie Marts does it again with this wonderful Christmas love story about two lovable and complex characters, Logan and Harper. Logan is single and a full time rancher and part time hockey coach in the small town of Credence, CO. Harper is a widow and a mom and has been a bit down on her luck after her mother got her involved in something illegal. She comes to town to get her son Floyd back from her mother in law but needs to make some money first so she agrees to be Logan’s housekeeper/cook. Enter that little thing called chemistry which happens to be the game changer for these two. Full of smart witty dialogue, sweet tender moments and steamy sexy times, this may be a quick read, but it is not short on any of the good stuff I love in a romance. Secrets threaten to ruin what they’ve started but hearts win out. I have really been enjoying this series and look forward to more!

Holiday Wishes! A sweet and sexy story of two strangers needing something in their lives to hold onto. Logan and Harper were perfect for each other. They both broke my heart with the individual struggles they were separately dealing with. I fell in love with Floyd and wished he had played a bigger part in the story. I was also thrilled when Judith finally let down her armor to except Harper. This story is filled with love, family and friends and made my heart happy. The added aspect that it is a holiday story was bonus.

Harper Evans’ luck has been very bad. She trusted her mother and that landed her in the county Jail, with custody of her son going to her mother-in-law, who was never her fan. She’s free now and ready to reclaim her son and make a fresh start, the only problem is she’s broke and stuck in a Colorado mountain town with no friends and only a slim thread of hope to hang onto. Logan Rivers just fired his housekeeper because her idea of keeping house had more to do with playing between the sheets than washing them. Now he’s running the family ranch while his dad is out of town and doesn’t have time for cleaning house and putting three squares on the table every day. Plus, the learning disability he struggled with in his youth has led to what seems like an insurmountable problem that could cost the ranch thousands, not to mention what little self-respect he still has. When Harper applies to be Logan’s new housekeeper she decides not to tell him about her son, or her bad luck with the law. Her new job might solve one problem for them both, but neither of them expects the growing attraction they start to feel. Logan’s luck in love has been lousy and he’s not anxious to be hurt again. Harper came to town looking for her son and she can’t get him back without a steady job and a place to live. If she risks her heart with Logan and tells him the truth does she put her future with her son at risk? Once again Ms. Marts is drawing her readers back to the cowboys of Creedance, Colorado and readers will be happy to go on this journey. Personally, this is my favorite book of this series thus far. The author has written compelling characters with fleshed out back stories. Plus, with each new book Marts adds layers to the community of Creedance and its citizens. By now readers are feeling very much at home with the folks they’ve come to love and root for in this little mountain town. There’s no doubt they’ll be rooting for Harper and Logan as well.

This is the fourth book in the Cowboys of Creedence series. I have read the previous books in this series, but this book can be read independently and fully enjoyed. Logan’s believes all the women in his life are temporary and they will leave him eventually. This began with his mother’s departure from his life at an early age. He believes his dyslexia is the reason she left and has carried this burden his entire life. Then his first real girlfriend left him and then he decide to not depend on any woman and to keep relationships with females causal. Harper finds herself with no one to depend on, except herself. Her mother was never a stable guidance and she caused more pain then love for Harper. Harper’s loving husband has died and due to a bad decision, her child, Floyd, was taken away from her. Harper is now free to reclaim her son and she puts all her focus on that one goal. Unfortunately, it is a difficult task to accomplish, but she would do anything to regain her son. This led her to Creedence (where her son is staying) and accepting a cook/ housekeeping job from Logan. He is struggling to maintain a house and a ranch almost single-handedly. Harper comes into Logan’s life and makes the house a home again and also takes Logan’s breath away with the immediate attraction he feels toward her. Logan knows Harper is in town temporarily and will be leaving, just as all the other women in his life. While Harper feels the sparks also, her focus is on her son not on herself. Can they keep the attraction on hold and not take action? Both Logan and Harper are living guarded lives, not trusting people totally with their hearts, but that does not stop them from extending kindness to anyone in need. Living in a small town, kindness is rewarded by receiving the same. In the short time Harper was in town, she shines as bright as a star by giving help to others, even as she was hurting so much inside. The plot flowed very logical and was a page turner for me. The characters were very well developed and I cared deeply about them and wanted the best outcome possible. Logan is a great man, trying his best to run a ranch, which is hard work. He also is very easy to look at and helps clean up a messy house! Harper is a survivor and will push with pure willpower if that is all she has left. I enjoyed the supporting characters also, including a cow named Star who likes marshmallows! This was a wonderful romance story during Christmas time. There were several themes going on in this book; learning to trust, forgiving yourself, not letting your “disabilities rule your life”, showing kindness when in a position to do so and believing in a brighter future, like wishing upon a star, or upon a cowboy, for a bright future. I want to thank NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for allowing me the great pleasure of reading this book. I have enjoyed the other books I have read by Jennie Marts and this is another fantastic story to add to her collection. My review is my own opinion, not influenced by receiving the ARC of this book.

Logan Rivers doesn't do love or relationships, after being burnt by women too many times to count, he just can't bring himself to sign-up for that again. He keeps his entanglements with the ladies now on a one night basis, for safety purposes of course. With ranching duties constantly piling up he knows he needs to hire a housekeeper but that task maybe a little harder than he anticipated, especially since every woman applying for the job is only looking to be his new move-in wife, instead of just an employee. Then Harper Evans shows up on his doorstep and he instantly knows she is perfect for the job, she seems to show no interest in him romantically, and insists she just needs a job. She has a plan to get her son back, and she isn't about to let anything derail her plan, which means her focus on him should be nil... but him on the other hand is a different story! Wish Upon a Cowboy is a heartwarming little page-turner that will squeeze your heart in all the right places! This unlikely pairing brings emotion, drama, heat, and humor to the pages, the moment you meet them you fall head over heels for them! This is a slow burner romance, with neither of them looking for love, their resistance to it is high, and so it takes them a while to give in to their attraction. They both have a lot of baggage to sort through too, but they compliment each other nicely and bring out the best in one another. Together they learn to forgive, grow individually, accept things that can't be changed, and put their trust in one another and eventually open their hearts. It's such a beautiful story to watch unfold, it's well penned words will lure you in, but it's the characters that really steal the show, once you meet them you won't want to let them go! Highly recommend this one, it's sure to keep you mesmerized from beginning to end!! I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, via NetGalley, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion

Wish Upon a Cowboy is book four in the Cowboys of Creedence series by Jennie Marts. Every single book in this series is filled with not only hockey playing sexy cowboys, but so much heart, love, and in this book, the beauty of Christmas in a small town. There is nothing better! Harper Evans lives in Kansas and has lost everything. First, her husband. Now, through desperation and trusting the wrong person, her son. Harper knows it’s her own fault and doesn’t deny she’s made mistakes. But as a result, she had to spend two months in county lock up. Now that she is out, she has used her last few dollars to go to Creedence, Colorado. It’s where her now deceased husband’s mother lives and that is who has her son. Her only goal is to be reunited with the only family she has left and the person who is the center of her world. Her eight year old son, Floyd. She wants to spend Christmas with her son. Logan Rivers is Quinn’s brother who we met in the first book in this series. He lives on the ranch he shares with his father, Rivers Gulch. Only his father has been away for awhile. So Logan thought he’d hire a housekeeper to help out temporarily. But so far, every one he tried to hire was more interested in him than the job. Logan has no interest in a relationship. He learned the hard way that women can’t be trusted to stick around. Completely out of money and with no where to stay, she learns of Logan’s need for a house keeper and cook. It’s the perfect way to earn some money so she can get her son back and take him back to Kansas. But, as she and Logan spend time together, they soon learn that they enjoy each other’s company. Logan finds himself smiling more and Harper begins to feel hope for the first time in a long time. But both know their time has an expiration date. They both try to ignore the chemistry between them but it soon becomes too much to deny. With disgruntled ex ranch hands, blizzards, and mother-in-laws determined to keep her son away from her, both Logan and Harper have plenty of challenges to conquer. This was such a sweet story. My heart just ached for Harper and all she’d been through and the way things had been going for her. The pain she felt being separated from her son was heart breaking. What impressed me most about her, though, was that no matter what was happening with her personally, this woman would do anything for anyone. And she had some major skills cooking and cleaning. She made me want to quick put down the book and mop my floors! There is so much heart in this book and in this small town. It made my heart so happy to see the way these people support one another. Logan is every fantasy of a rugged cowboy. These two together were perfect but of course, they have to find their way. The last chapter seriously made my eyes misty. I also have to mention that what could be more breathtaking than Christmas on a Colorado ranch?! This is another wonderful addition to this series and I enjoyed it so much.

The author takes us back to Creedence where the cowboys are perfect in their imperfections . This time the story belongs to Logan Rivers, brother of Quinn whom we met in book one. He’s a rancher in need of a housekeeper. One that’s not interested in doing housekeeping on him! Harper Evans , a woman who has had more obstacles and hardships in her short life than most people have in a lifetime, is in town to get her son back. In desperate need of a job to earn money and have shelter, suddenly fate intervenes and she ends up working for Logan. Harper is keeping secrets but fears if she reveals them , she’ll be homeless. A friendship and attraction develops between these two . But both have been left before and guard their hearts. When things seem to be getting better for Harper, she’s once again pushed to the ground. Will she be able to surface once again, or will her past , and present destroy her future? Engaging from the start, this story will touch your hearts. This is another well written story by this talented author. I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

LOVED this book!!! This is another winner in the Cowboys of Creedence series. Logan is positively swoon worthy as the sexy and lonely cowboy on his ranch in desperate need of competent help. Harper is the single mom down on her luck and desperate to retrieve her son from his grandmother in Creedence. She is so desperate to get to him that she rode a bus from Kansas to Colorado, spending the last of her limited funds to do it. Harper finds a job working for Logan and, along the way starts collecting friends in the community and falling for Logan. Logan is sexy and competent, yet has some insecurities, while Harper is damaged and has a difficult past. Harper has sworn to herself that she wouldn't fall for Logan, as she needed the job too badly to risk losing it for a fling. Logan knows that women leave and that no woman would choose to stay with him. Somehow, their broken pieces seem to fit together. I fell in love with the characters and felt totally engaged in, and invested in, their story. I wanted them to get their HEA ending and couldn't flip the pages fast enough as I devoured their tale. If you enjoy the genre, you will love this book. Put this one at the top of your TBR list. The author is on my must read authors' list.
