There is a reason we look at others as rivals and limit ourselves to comparison and competition. We have an enemy assaulting our mind, will, and emotions in the hope that we'll turn on ourselves and each other. It's a cycle that isolates us from intimate connections, creates confusion about our identity, and limits our purpose.
In Without Rival, bestselling author Lisa Bevere shares how a revelation of God's love breaks these limits. You'll learn how to stop seeing others as rivals and make the deep connections with your Creator you long for--connections that hold the promise of true identity and intimacy. With biblically sound teaching filled with prophetic insight for our day, Lisa uses humor and passion to challenge you to
· Flip rivalry so it brings out the best in you
· Stop hiding from conversations you need to be a part of
· Answer the argument that says women are unfit, easily deceived, and gullible
· Dismantle gender rivalry and work with the men in your life
It's time to step forward to live a life without rival.

Without Rival by Lisa Bevere is the latest book out from Messenger International. I read this one alongside Lysa Terkeurst’s Uninvited, and I must say, reading them in conjunction was amazing. However, since I did that and they had similar messages, it was a little hard to separate my opinions of them. Without Rival centers its message on rivalry, comparison, and rejection within the church, and how women can step up to the roles that Christ intended for them. The first half of the book seemed to just be the author venting on how women were/are treating as “less than”, and then the second half of the book was really powerful. I would recommend both Without Rival and Uninvited, but I must say that the latter is an easier read. Both talk about rejection and competition, and both are encouraging, inspiring reads, and I would recommend reading them at the same time like I did (a chapter of one on one day, a chapter of the other the next day). If you don’t want to read two books on the same topic, then I would suggest Uninvited over Without Rival. (I realize the irony of comparing two books on comparison, though, in case you were wondering.) Personally, I enjoyed both books, it’s only that Without Rival was a little harder to read. Thank you to Net Galley and Revell publishers for providing me with an electronic copy of this book to read and review. All my opinions are my own and were not required to be positive.
This is a must read for any person, male or female, that is longing to to change the world for Jesus. Lisa's profound message confronts attitudes of jealousy, pride, insecurity and competition while empowering each individual to run their race with strength and courage. I loved every bit of it.
"Your first step in knowing your identity is found in who you are to Him." - Lisa Bevere Without Rival is the much-anticipated new book from author Lisa Bevere. Truly I tell you that there are not enough good words that I can speak about this book. It is clear and powerful and poignant. Lisa teaches on how God does not love His children equally, but uniquely. She speaks straight into the hearts of women of all ages to communicate how special each one is as the daughter of the Lord. "Our Father rejoiced when you drew your first breath, and as the years unfolded, the angels of heaven rejoiced with him when you were reborn as his Spirit-quickened daughter. Marvelously loved one, there is absolutely nothing accidental about you." AMEN. Because we are uniquely made for a unique purpose, we are without rival. This book is filled to the brim with life-giving words about identity, purpose, and expression. The reader is taught about how our concepts of God are reflected in ourselves and how our God perceptions are ultimately reflected in the life we live and the choices we make. It is of vital importance that we know who God is and what He says about us. We must avoid the distraction and division that comes with comparison - between individuals of the same gender and between male and female. God loves male and female uniquely. Lisa presents a very clear, thorough, and biblical teaching on the role of the female gender and the role of women in the church. It was enlightening and refreshing to have someone use her platform in such a powerful way to shine a spotlight on a subject which many do not like to talk about. I treasure this book. Women around the world need this message. Men around the world need this message too. Men, the same concepts are applicable to you. This book is so good and many will be set free! I'm going to really have to read it a few times to let all the truths sink in because I still struggle to see my worth and reading a book one time just isn't going to do it. But the Holy Spirit is shining a light and I know eventually the message will take root. So thankful that Lisa took the time and energy to write this book I know many will be helped!
