I have read several of Ruggeri's "giallo" detective novels and enjoyed this one as well. I agree with a prior review that we don't learn much about the main detective nor about his personal life, but this crime was thoroughly examined with all of the loose ends tied up. Ruggeri leads the reader down several paths (vicoli) before revealing the genius behind his summation of the crime. An excellent book to read while studying Italian, a bit easier than some of the classic Italian novels from the past, but still challenging with new vocabulary and verb forms.
