A calligram is a form of poetry created to be viewed and admired as well as read. It stands out for its peculiar typographic layout: the words are placed to create a picture or designs. In calligrams, the artist generally use the words to create an image related to the poem's main theme. In other cases, the picture created by the words may be evocative but indirectly related to the content.

About the Author

Daniele Tozzi is an Italian lettering artist whose work derives from graphic design and graffiti. Born in Rome in 1981, Tozzi came in contact with the underground culture in the late 1990s, when he started writing graffiti. After high school, he earned a degree in digital design from the European Design Institute and began to work as a graphic designer.
