Empathy is an emotion that has always evaded Cam Farrell, president of the Moroad Motorcycle Club and prisoner #18794. He's gambled with his life to finish the gun chain running across the states, get the majority of his MC brothers working inside the prison system, and place the smoke screen in Federal, Idaho. He only needs one more thing—Christina. What he wants, he takes, and freedom doesn't mean a damn thing.

Christina Nickelson keeps to herself and uses her part-time job for Silver Valley's Department of Children's Services to help those who are also alone and hurting. The anger and fear she thought she'd overcome after her parents were murdered resurfaces when an ex-convict and leader of a motorcycle club claims a teenage boy in her care. She can't let her worries go. Putting herself at risk, she finds herself held hostage, witnessing a murder, and questioning fate. The only person she can rely on is the biker who will kill her if she tries to leave.

I didn't think i woul like the whole jailbird thing, but Debra Kayn proved me wrong. I live everything badass biker and these guys are like repeat offender bad. But the gradual relationship that built between Christina and Cam was humbling. They were two broken people who learned to be whole together. Aren't we all slightly damaged in some way. Their story wasn't perfect. But it was bittersweet.

I am a huge fan of Debra Kayn’s Bantorus MC series So when I heard she was writing a new series and it would be totally different from the ones she previously write, I was excited. I couldn’t wait to see what kind of twist she would put on the Moroad MC books. I was completely blown away. Christina Nickelson and Cam Farrell’s story will have you hooked from the first few pages. Cam is a tough former prison inmate and president of Moroad MC. He has been on his own since he was a kid and never cared about anything except how he would survive. No one cared about him until he met Christina. Christina had a wonderful family and was a happy child until her parents were murdered. She has lived with the image of finding them dead all these years. She starts writing to prisoner #18794 in hopes of being able to figure out how a criminal mind works so she can get some sort of lead on finding her parent’s murder. It is sixteen year old Jeremy who brings Christina and Cam together. Christina is Jeremy’s former social worker. All she cares about is that the boy is safe. When she returns after being warned to stay away, Cam kidnaps her holds her locks her up in his house As she gets to know Cam better, she starts falling for him. He’s a broken man who needs someone to love him. He protects her and makes her feel safe. This is not your average romance. So if you’re looking for something that is all hearts and flowers, this is not for you. This book is raw and gritty, but one incredible well planned out story.

I know this series is a spinoff from the Bantorus Series but after reading the first book in that series, I was seriously put off by it, especially the two main characters so I just decided to skip that series and move straight to this one, which I'm enjoying a bit better. An MC made up entirely of ex and current convicts, that's really different so yeah I picked it up. So while there is some mention of Bantorus characters, places and situations, it's still okay to push through and not get to confusing which is good because I don't want to read that series, at least for now I don't. Overall this first book in the Moroad MC was a bit strange because Cam became super obsessed with Christina and it's not quite clear why. Then he literally forced her to quit her job and move in with him, all the events leading up to her falling in love with him are forceful and it's just not clear why. It's obvious that she's super damaged because of what happened to her parents, she kept herself isolated to the point that she had no one, no friends, no nothing. She was nosy as hell but that's about it. Their whole relationship was based on lies and force, how it worked out was beyond me, but that's what made the story somewhat interesting. There was a slight cliffhanger but nothing that will leave you upset or with a million questions so it isn't so bad. I'm interested to see what else is in stored for Cam and Christina. I hope she grows a backbone and stops allowing all those men to boss her around because she is the woman of the house, so she needs to start acting like it! SR

Warning- this is NOT a complete book. If you like serials then I would recommend because it is a gripping story. I personally do not like them and feel like serials should be labeled as such in the description.
