A gift of warmth
to heal two hearts…

Sarah Smith in Pine Hill, Kentucky has had her heart broken in the past. She pours herself into her work at church and into special projects—like making a quilt for a wounded warrior.

Bodie Lewis is lost. All he’s ever wanted was his career as an Army Ranger, but he was injured in an explosion that killed his brothers in arms. In the hospital, he receives a handmade quilt. Later, he sets out on his final mission: to find and thank its maker.

Bodie expected Sarah to be an elderly lady, not a lovely young woman. When she mistakes him for a handyman, he doesn’t immediately set her straight. Instead, he sets about repairing the home she’s turning into a bed and breakfast. Sarah’s presence and the spirit of the small town bring Bodie something he thought he’d left far behind on the battlefield: hope.

This heartwarming sweet romance includes a free quilt pattern from the Quilts of Valor Foundation and a new original Hallmark recipe for Cinnamon Swirl Bread.

Sarah lives in a small Kentucky town, and has dedicated most of her life to doing for others – daughter of the town’s minister and without a mother, her aunt and father, along with most of the women of her aunt’s generation, all had a hand in raising her. But now her beloved aunt has died, leaving her with her old house that Sarah is determined to convert to a B & B to open just after the Christmas holiday. Sarah has spent all of her time with women who pride themselves on their hand crafting skills, and a quilt that Sarah made, pouring all of her sorrow from losing her aunt, her wishes to help and offer comfort and her eternal optimistic outlook was donated to the Quilts of Valor, an organization that provides handmade quilts to wounded veterans. Little did Sarah know that her quilt would bring comfort, relief and an unending curiosity about her and her town from the wounded Army Ranger who received her package. The letter within described all she had to be thankful for, including her wishes that the quilt bring comfort, happiness and healing to the one who received it. Brody has lost everything he thought he wanted: a career in the army, travel, a mission and a purpose in protecting those around him. But in an instant, his team with the exception of him, was destroyed in a blast, and the only thing that saved him was his heath and fitness. Now with a few weeks before starting a ‘cushy’ job as a bodyguard, he’s decided to detour through Kentucky to thank Sarah for the quilt she made before he heads back to start work. This was lovely – as Brody didn’t explain his reason for being in town, and Sarah, desperately in need of someone to work on her house hired him instantly. With plenty of ‘matchmaking’ pressure from the “Butterflies” (a group of older women who have known Sarah since birth) the rumors, machinations and push to bring the two together is strong. Least of all Brody’s recognition of the ‘lightness’ he feels because of Sarah and his dog, Harry, and her unending belief in the magic of Christmas and her simple goodness. He’s determined that his past makes him no good for Sarah, and that his dreams won’t allow for him to ‘connect’ and when he leaves (and is utterly morose – enough that his best friend notices it) he realizes that Sarah and her little Kentucky town could have all he could dream of. With lots of laughter and small -town characters, plenty of ‘seasonal’ cheer and the simple joy that comes from Sarah’s life – the story is the perfect Christmas read – loaded with good cheer and goodwill. I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

If you read only one holiday story this season, choose this one. What an uplifting story. Sarah sewed a quilt when a favorite aunt that helped raise her became ill. It was a work of love and when finished donated to an organization that sends it to a veteran. Bodie was the recipient, after being the lone survivor of his unit after an IED explosion. He travels to Ky to thank the woman who sewed it and sent along a special note of appreciation for his military service expecting a little old kady. Imagine his surprise when he meets a young woman renovating a house to open a B and B for Christmas. The story shares their growing friendship and the preparation for the upcoming Christmas celebration in this small town. The characters come alive and the true meaning of Christmas shines through. All in all, a great read! I received a free ARC eBook from Net Galley and the publisher for my honest opinions.

The Healing Power of Christmas This is a heartwarming story of a war-weary veteran who comes home to a loving and giving woman and the healing begins. It is of no surprise that Hallmark is publishing this book as it really should be one of their movies. It is very well written and I hated to see it end. It is a lovely and clean story that doesn't have a negative vibe in it anywhere. I loved it and want to read more like it, I received this ARC book for free from Net Galley and this is my honest review.

Another great hallmark Christmas story. Bodie and Sarah are two people that probably would have never crossed paths if not for a quilt that Sarah made. Bodie is a soldier that was recovering from his injuries when he received a quilt that Sarah made. It gave him comfort during during his recovery. He came to her town just to thank her, not planning to stay but when he found out she needed a handyman to help her open a bed and breakfast he decided that would be the best way to thank her. They grow to really care for each even though they are so different. This is such a sweet story.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. It wouldn't be Christmas without Hallmark. Available on 10-2-19, Wrapped Up In Christmas, by Janice Lynn, is a Hallmark story for a snowy night read with a cup of hot chocolate. Romance can't be any sweeter or more pure than the kind offered up by Ms Lynn and Hallmark. Bodie Lewis, our hero, is a damaged man, physically and emotionally, who's trying hard to get on with his life. Everything is changing and he's got to adapt, but how? His PTSD makes it a daily struggle. He's still military stern, not given to showing his feelings, or smiling. Life on the "outside" is strange and scary. He's recuperated enough to head home to see his Mom but 1st stop is Pine Hill, KY. He'd been gifted with a handmade quilt while in the hospital. The Quilts Of Valor project is real and to be commended on their good works. He wants to personally thank the quilt maker but is pole-axed when he meets the young lady, not the grandmother type he expected. She's pretty, with a wholesome, small town girl vibe. He's drawn to her, she's good and kind. A misunderstanding has Bodie hiding why he's there and signing on to be a handyman. He's a stereotypical ex-military character, which I found hard to get excited about. He's a handsome, nice enough guy but his stoic demeanor dragged for me. Sarah Smith is the type of woman who's been burned pretty bad in the romance department & has given up. She no longer tries at all. She's devoted to her town and it's people, throwing all her time and effort into them. Her dreams of happiness and love are put away in the back of her mind. She's now fixated on turning her beloved late Aunt's home into a B&B. Good looking Bodie is a gift from Heaven, a handyman sent in her time of desperate need. She's a rigid character too, set in her ways but considers herself content not stuck. These two need each other, they each heal the other one and become more complete, rounded humans. It's a difficult romance, despite that instant, deep attraction. I never fully invested in the characters even though the story is good and the writing flows. My favorite character turned out to be Harry, the dog. He's awesome. #Netgalley #HallmarkPublishing #WrappedUpInChristmas #JaniceLynn #Romance

Sometimes things do not go as planned "Wrapped Up in Christmas. An uplifting small-town romance from Hallmark Publishing" was written by Janice Lynn. Former army ranger Bodie Lewis' reason for being in Pine Hill, Kentucky, was only to thank the person who made the Quilt of Valor for him and then to leave. The quilt brought him out of the dark hole while he was recuperating after being injured overseas. But things didn't go as planned. Instead of Sarah Smith being a "nice old lady" she is a young woman whose focus is on two things: everything that has to do with Christmas, especially the On-the-Square-Christmas Festival in Pine Hill and the opening of the bed-and-breakfast in the old Victorian house on Christmas eve which she inherited from her aunt Jean. To accomplish this she urgently needs a handyman. Bodie Lewis has a job lined up, but instead of thanking Sarah for the quilt he suddenly finds himself working for Sarah who impacts his life as he impacts hers. What will the future bring for them? Will the influence of the "Butterflies" be helpful? This clean romance is an relaxing read, encouraging, uplifting, with believable characters. The very good book can be highly recommended. It does not only include a recipe, this time for cinnamon swirl bread (like Hallmark romances usually do), but it also contains brief information about the Quilts of Valor Group project and the instructions to sew a "Stars and Stripes" quilt. The complimentary copy of this book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley free of charge. I was under no obligation to offer a positive review. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. #WrappedUpInChristmas #NetGalley

If I could give this 20 stars, I would. I think Janice Lynn and Hallmark Publishing really knocked it out of the park with this one. A quilt, a veteran, a dog, a small town with a boatload of Christmas spirit...... whats not to love? I loved the teasing back and forth between Bodie and Sarah, and I loved the POV of each. Bodie's description are funny. (Including him calling her purse a mini-suitcase....lol!) The corny Christmas jokes were awesome, I may have snorted a time or two. ^_^ And generally, I don't even like epilogues...but this one was good! Everything about this story was fantastic. What is really cool about this one, is not only does it have that magnificent recipe in the back, but also, Quilts of Valor is a big part of the story, and Janice/Hallmark have included instructions for creating your very own quilt. Too. Cool. I received an advance copy to review. All opinions are my own.

Wrapped up in Christmas by Janice Lynn is a nice, relaxing, and romantic Christmas read. The events that brought Sarah and Bodie together were a long, rough road. The relationship that Sarah and Bodie developed after meeting in her Kentucky hometown due to Bodie wanting to thank the person that made the quilt for him as he was a recently returned and injured veteran, brought a new light into both of their lives. I enjoyed the complexity of Bodie and I thought that Sarah and Bodie compliment each other quite well and they seemed to bring the best out in each other. I enjoyed knowing that these characters were able to find happiness in this harsh world. An uplifting read. 4/5 stars

This is a heart warming story about a girl named Sara and a quilt she makes for a soldier changes his life. Brody is a soldier who was told he would never walk again, and has dark memories of being the only survivor of his last mission. He receives a quilt that brings new light to his life. On his way home he decides to detour and thank the nice elderly lady who gave him the quilt. This is there story. I read this book as an arc from NetGalley

I'm one of those people who can read Christmas novels year long - they are generally heartwarming and uplifting with happy endings. Wrapped Up In Christmas was no different. It's an overload of over-the-top Christmas feels sprinkled with small-town shenanigans. As I commented on the Hallmark Facebook page, "It was a sweet Christmas overload - delightful!" I could relate in part to the female lead, Sarah, as I too work for our local church, and love crafting... but alas, she's more talented at quilting than I'll ever even think about being. The aspects of loss, and the wounds of the veteran, and the healing that comes about all add another layer of warmth to this novel. It was an enjoyable read and while maybe not my favourite part on their own, the older "butterflies" absolutely drove me crazy and made me laugh. We all need people who care about us enough to keep us on our toes. A well-rounded, feel-good Christmas read. I received a complimentary advanced readers copy of this title via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

After an honorable discharge from the military, Bodie Lewis got a job at his buddy's security company. On his way there, he made a couple of stops. One was to thank the woman who made him the Quilt of Valor he received while in the hospital recovering from injuries he got from an IED. That quilt helped him get through some tough times and he wanted her to know how much he appreciated it. Expecting to find an older woman, he was shocked to see she was in her 20s. But before he could say anything, several older ladies assumed he was there to answer the young woman's handyman ad and started interrogating/interviewing him. Wanting to repay her kindness, he took the job. With the main characters, Bodie was a wonderful hero and I couldn’t help sympathizing with him after all that he’s been through. Sarah liked doing community service projects with the church and loved working with her friends who called themselves The Butterflies. These elderly church ladies watched out for each other and were always ready to protect Sarah - whether she needed them to or not. I liked Sarah. She was so upbeat and positive all the time. Always thinking of others, she made quilts for the Quilts of Valor Foundation. Sarah and Bodie had an interesting first encounter. There was definitely chemistry, but both were cautious about acting on it. I enjoyed this sweet small-town romance with it's HEA that left me smiling. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book from Hallmark Publishing via NetGalley

Wrapped up in Christmas. A small town tale from Hallmark Publishing. Say, what! You’re speaking my language, Janice Lynn. Romance story dreams DO come true. Did I mention Hallmark? So you know it’s good. Fingers crossed this turns into a countdown to Christmas movie . Let’s chat WUIC! Bodie Lewis. All he ever wanted was to be a soldier. Bodie suffers a war injury and all he‘s left with is gruesome memories, survivors guilt, and a Quilt of Valor. After honorable discharge, he sets out to thank the “elderly woman” whom impacted his life with her kindness. Little does he know that “elderly woman” turns out to be YOUNG, beautiful, single Sarah. Oh, Sarah Smith. She is sugar cookies on Christmas morning and loves everything about the most wonderful time of the year. Well, Sarah is about to hit the jack pot! Ask and the Lord shall deliver . Literally. Enter tall, dark, and handsome aka Bodie. Before he even gets to profess his gratitude for the quilt that offered him hope, he takes on a job at her Hamilton House Bed & Breakfast as her handyman. But not until “the butterfly’s”, her group of church pals...You know the grandma-matchmaking-all-up-in-yo-biz type... have him checked out. If you’re in the market (♀️) for a light, fluffy, uber romantic, Christmas fairy tale, you should probably, most definitely give Wrapped Up In Christmas a read. Ps. Don’t worry.. you’re going to get hooked and wish your eye balls could read faster so you can find out what. Is. Happening. 5/5 recommend! A cutesy story about hope, peace, love, service, community, and fellowship. Now someone point me to Pine Hill. Thank you NetGalley and Hallmark Publishing for this ARC! LOVED.

This is such a good book! I truly enjoyed reading it! It's a heartwarming & moving story. Sarah, inherited an old Victorian home. Turning it into a B & B, is going to take a lot of work. When a man walked into the church, Sarah assumed he was answering her handy man ad. The reason Bodie was there to thank Sarah for the special gift he received from her. But after meeting her, he forgot all about that. Everything you want in a true Christmas romance. Sarah ❤ Bodie, steal your heart from the very first pages to the last. It has the small town charm & the comfort of friends & family.  I loved everything about this Must Read Story!!
