All contributors to this volume are, or were, inmates of His Majesty's Prison and the Belle Isle Correctional Facility in St Vincent, a place where, as Tim Daisy wrote: "The damp and brutal cold and moldy cell walls connive... and wheezing chests steers panic into the unsuspecting clutches that forms part of society's rif raf (sic).
