You Can Do It! by Tony Dungy, Amy June Bates

Tony Dungy's little brother, Linden, is a third grader who is having a bad day at school. Linden is the youngest of the Dungy family and the least motivated because he hasn't found "it." In a family where everyone seems to have found their special talent, all Linden knows is that he wants to make people happy.

With encouragement from his parents, a helping hand from his older brother Tony, and inspiration from God, Linden learns that if he dreams big and has faith, he can do anything!

Favorable: Enjoyable and inspiring reading. A touching story of finding and following your "dream" career is provided in this book. It has detailed and engaging illustrations. A great book for young readers, it will encourage exploring various careers and finding one suited for each individual. The last page says, "I'm glad I had parents that helped us to dream. I'm glad they taught us to pray about things that were on our mind," these statements were thought provoking. Enjoyed this book and will remember it in my heart.

I recommend this book because it does a wonderful job of showing that each of us is special and has an 'it' within us. When we find 'it', we all can soar! Great message for young and old alike. Tony's faith and convictions come through loud and clear. It's true - You CAN do it 'no matter who you are'.

'you can do it' is a wonderful childrens book writtion by tony dungy that talks about his early childhood how he wanted to become intrested in sports and his sister wanted to join in the field of medicine. this little book shows how the parents were able to bring alot of hope and courage and faith into their childrens lifes. I think this is a great book for adults as well as children. It will teach adults how to give confidence and courage to childrens dreams and I think it will help kids with strong self confidence and getting rid of low self esteem. this book is truly a real blessing. great gift idea for friend and family member or younger person.

This is a heart-warming story of brothers. A beautiful picture of an intact and functional African-American family. My husband and I adopted two bi-racial boys and we are always looking for uplifting books featuring African-American characters to add to our personal library. This one is a keeper.

I purchased this book as a Christmas gift for my six-year old nephew. During this economy and watching the struggles of so many others, I wanted him to get away from the belief that all great gifts arrive in the form of the next digital or technological game advance. I wanted him to appreciate books and start reading more. I also wanted him to understand that he could be very successful if he honed in on his own strengths. He is a very special young boy, which is very easy for me to see, but I wanted him to realize that for himself. I believe that the storyline of this book helps me to confer that message. The artwork and characters in the book were relevant and lent themselves to an overall fantastic piece of work. My nephew has read the book several times and truly believes that he can be successful based upon his own talents. This was a great gift from me to him, the gift of reading and reinforcing the belief that a lot is possible if you believe in yourself.
