My-oh-my, don’t we love the fierce, wild, beauty of wolves? My-oh-my, don’t we love the friendly, loving, servitude of dogs? Could two animal attitudes be more opposite? Yet, dogs are descended from wolves! What do they think about the situation? Indeed, what can they do about the situation? Surely, never the twain shall meet again, no? My story lets us in on a secret gathering of wolves where their particular history is recounted, at a periodic “telling.” Magnificent, their “teller,” speaks of an ordinary, black dog called Great Heart, who both thinks and acts to change his situation.
