Been So Long was an excellent book! I read the authors first book Bluesday and have been impatiently waiting for more. I was not surprised when I began reading and completed this well crafted work of art! I could not put this book down! It was full of love, pain and humour. The most exciting thing about this book... you are unable to guess what is coming next! You don't know where the author is going until she takes you there! I was very impressed by the creative original story line, the diversity and colorful characters! I am hooked! I can't wait for her other two books to hit the stand!

I've rarely given 5 stars but this was hands down a page turner. As a full-time career woman, wife, and mother of 3 who loves to read, when I get spare time, this is the type of book that I enjoy spending time to read. My only comment is I wish the author would've added 2 or 3 more chapters to include the reunion with her younger sister. I'm purchasing other books by this author.

When Mona-Lisa Dandridge was a freshman in college, she met Wasif Masood. He was a fine looking man. When she first saw him she was at a loss for words. Mona was already dating her high school sweetheart Cory, but when she saw Wasif, all sense of reality was lost. It was then that she decided Wasif Masood would be hers and Cory was a thought in the distant wind. Years passed and Mona was true to her word. Her and Wasif were together and living the life of their dreams. They became parents to handsome twins, Wasif was a well known cardiologist, and Mona was a homemaker living in a beautiful home with everything provided for her and her boys. They were the perfect family. The perfect family with secrets. What are these secrets? Will it tear their family apart? Adrienne Thompson's "Been So Long" was a fabulous read. Once I picked the book up, I could not put it down. I completed it in a matter of hours. It was an emotionally intense read with unbelievable heart wrenching events. When I made it to the end of the book, I didn't want it to end. I wanted more of the life of these characters. With this said, I give Adrienne Thompson 5 well deserved stars. I look forward to reading more of her books. Reviewed by: Sabrina

This story was great and different. It's definitely not your usual romance story. I thought this was a good story, with good characters, and after finishing the story I wanted more. Great read!

This book was a quick read and an addictive one at that. It had my interest when I read the last line of the first chapter. It was almost surreal as the main character, Mo, came to life. I found this book to be thought-provoking, inspirational and entertaining. It was a great reading experience as was "Bluesday". Personally my thoughts about this book was that it teaches about the consequences of our actions which I think is an invaluable lesson and as I read the excerpts from "Bluesday II" and "When You've Been Blessed" I'm looking forward to more great reading. Great work Adrienne!

This love story was filled with complexities.  It shows the messy side of love. Mona felt she picked right in her college years but saw the ugly effects of that decision years later. I loved the story because it pulled my emotional strings as it relates to characters. I hated some, felt compassion for others,  and felt indifferent about others as well. I like Adrienne Thompson as an author. Her ability to construct real, complex ,and flawed characters makes her stories rich and engaging.

Oh my goodness, I really enjoyed this book! I really hope there is a part 2. I felt bad for Mo but I still felt bad for her kids father even though he used her. And poor Corey, he waited almost a life time! I guess that was real love

being the person i am, i did not like the main character. I just didn't understand how someone could allow themselves to go through such an ordeal but soon realize that there are many women in this world that are just like her. I just hope that when people read the book they begin to realize their true value and never undervalue themselves again.
