    This book is captivating!

When I first received my copy of this first effort by Renee Bernard, I wasn't sure what to expect. From the very first page, the crisp writing and fine storytelling kept me riveted to the pages. This is a wonderfully crafted story that is beautifully written about people that you can relate to on many levels. This one's a keeper!

    Captivating and unique!

This unusual tale of broken dreams and broken hearts, ends in an unexpected flurry of love and romance. Suspense and history woven into an exciting and captivating plot are enough to keep anyone flipping these pages. This first novel by Renee Bernard only keeps me wanting more.

    Great book!

I didn't think I was a romance fan but Renee changed my mind. I couldn't read it fast enough. Excellent debut! I can't wait for her next novel.

    Entertaining Tale

A sea captain, horribly scarred, and a beautiful damsel in distress, who is blind to his flaws, are destined to fall in love with one another. Together, they uncover the dastardly plot behind her brother's disappearance. Cast a wicked, depraved villain and his greedy, lusty female accomplice into the fray, and you have 'Blind Aphrodite' -- an entertaining tale. Graphic descriptions of the beautiful as of the ugly side of the act called 'love-making,' and some violence, as well as certain plot twists give this historical romance a gothic touch. Ms Bernard shows, rather than tells. A fine debut for a talented writer.
