Overview

In Chasing Blue, Sasha and her horse, Charm, have proven that they’re worthy competitors for the elite Canterwood Crest equestrian team. Things are definitely looking up . . . until Sasha finds out who her riding partner for the semester is: her archnemesis, Queen Bee Heather. Not. Good. And when Heather starts spending a little too much QT with Sasha’s almost-boyfriend, Jacob, the partnership is put to the ultimate test. The tension builds in Behind the Bit when Sasha and her team are accepted to a prestigious horse clinic. Can Sasha and Callie work together when it counts?

Sasha Silver Is Back-And Better Than Ever

The second book of the CANTERWOOD CREST series is a great sequel, which is hard to do. Things are getting tense at Canterwood. Pranks are getting harsher and the major important Regionals are looming ahead. With a special (and secret) dance coming up, anything can happen!

    I Also Recommend:

Canterwood Crest: Chasing Blue (Book 2)

Here is yet another example of Jessica Burkhart's natural talent and voice. Canterwood Crest: Chasing Blue is the second book in the Canterwood Crest Series. It combines horses, drama, and lip gloss together in a way that catches the reader and draws them in instantly. It is entertaining, absorbing, and funny. Jessica Burkhart's unique and captivating voice brings the CC characters to life. The CC girls are relatable and fascinating with real-life problems, thoughts, actions, and situations. Every character is unique and fun. This book is the perfect recipe with a mix of good characters, fun horses, and drama filled situations (but always with a touch of humor). Jessica Burkhart may easily be one of best tween/teen writers in the world. She really knows how to make the books fun, yet dramatic; serious, yet funny; horsey, yet not overly horsey. She has an amazing gift and writes with a voice that will take you over and draw you in effortlessly. I always am excited for the next book and they have never failed to thrill me. Here is my take on Canterwood Crest: Chasing Blue:

12-year-old Sasha Silver is loving her life at the elite Canterwood Crest Academy. She has a great group of friends and riding is amazing. That is, until she and the leader of her arch enemies, the Trio, are paired together. Heather Fox starts to destroy Sasha's social life and then make her doubt herself as a rider also. But nevertheless, Sasha and Heather mainly put that behind them when it comes to riding. But in the end Heather does manage to destroy all of Sasha's life except for riding. And even her BFF starts to doubt in Sasha. Will Sasha melt under the pressure or stand up against all of her taunting doubts? Find out more in Canterwood Crest: Chasing Blue.

This book is even better than the first one! If you were a bit reluctant when you read the first one, you will totally fall head-over-heels for this series now. I can feel that Jessica's writing style has become more confident and she has made the story slightly more realistic. I really loved the competition and Heather in this book. Although this may surprise you, I am a Heather fan. She adds such an air to these books (and even more so in books 6+) that I do personally like her. But decide for yourself when you read this book. I would recommend this book to girls, ages 9-15. Even if you aren't horse crazy I bet you will love this book! Find out more in Canterwood Crest: Chasing Blue and READ, READ, READ!

Reviewed by Jennifer Rummel for TeensReadToo.com

Sasha's finally fitting in at Canterwood Crest. She wouldn't want to be anywhere else, especially since things are starting to heat up between her and Jacob. But could there be trouble in paradise?

Heather's noticed Sasha's crush and she's doing everything possible to put doubts in Sasha's head. Sasha's trying to juggle her feelings for Jacob on top of dealing with Heather, a major horse competition, school work, and helping Paige reach her dream of becoming a TV chef.

There's only so much a girl can do. Plus, the riding team starts working out in pairs; Sasha and Heather are assigned as one team. Could things get any worse? Will Sasha be focused enough on her riding skills to seriously compete in this competition, or will her A-game be thrown off by all the personal drama?

CHASING BLUE continues Sasha's tale, adding boys to the mix of horses, roommates, serious work, and friendship drama. You can't help but love and root for Sasha Silver.

    Like it but.

I love this book, actually! I think that it is so absorbing, and it's very fun to read. The characters are intriguing, and the story plot makes you want to keep on reading.

There are a few bad things though. I wouldn't recommend reading it if you would want to learn how to ride horses.. it says you squeeze with your legs, and that you have a palamino Arabian.... that's impossible.

Maybe a bit rushed and not very factual, but it is very interesting, and I think you should read it!
