    Read only because required

    The only reason I read this book was because I had to for a multicultural literature course, and quite frankly, I would not wish this book on anyone. The author lays the morals/life lessons on real think, as if her readers are too dense to pick up on subtle references to prejudices/injustices. What ever happened to inference?

    A Classic

    My story is about a girl whos 8 years old and he parents want to move and she is gonna miss her best friend . . when she winds up moving her friends supposidly make fun of her for be portorian and she winds of moving back . .!

    My Opinion

    I think this is a wonderful book for children to read because it teaches them that we are all human beings and should be treated with respect. The color of your skin or your nationality is all a part of your heritage, and we should all be proud of who we are and where we come from.

    A lesson of believeing in yourself.

    This book is a great book to read because it teaches you that where you come from and the color of your skin dosen't truly matter, what matters is that you know who you are and to be proud of yourself no matter what. Maybe, in life sometimes people will step into your life and judge you because of the color of your skin or your heritage. But, you always have to remember who you are and that your proud of who you are.

    Kids moving away from family and friends, and all that is familiar.

    Great book! Especially for our kids moving to the U.S. from other Spanish speaking countries. They can relate to Felita and understand they are not alone in their fears of attending a new school, speaking another language and leaving their friends back home.
