In LIVING BEYOND YOUR FEELINGS, Joyce Meyer examines the gamut of feelings that human beings experience. She discusses the way that the brain processes and stores memories and thoughts, and then - emotion by emotion - she explains how we can manage our reactions to those emotions. By doing that, she gives the reader a toolbox for managing the way we react to the onslaught of feelings that can wreak havoc on our lives.

A constant struggle of mine is controlling my feelings. You know, the times when you wish you could just get away from all that life throws at you? We have on average about 70,000 thoughts every day, each one triggering a different emotion. No wonder why it's such a struggle! I feel like I am, the majority of the time, controlled by my emotions and I wasn't sure what to do with all the negativity I felt was surrounding me. In Joyce Meyer's "Living Beyond Your Feelings" I found solace in her empowering words of encouragement and faith.
Joyce examines the majority of human feelings and discusses the way the brain processes and stores memories and thoughts. In great detail, she explains how we can easily manage our reactions to those feelings, and in doing so, teaches her readers how to efficiently manage the gamut of feelings that wreak havoc on our lives.
I recommend this book to people of all ages, from preteens to the elderly. Joyce's advice pulled me out of my pit of despair and has forever altered the way I view the world, how I handle my emotions, how I regulate my thoughts and feelings, and how I am in social environments. "It gave me the tools to set the ball in motion for my life outside of high school, helped me to make proactive choices and helped me regain control of my life." from my 18-year-old daughter who read the book before I got a chance to read it first. It made that much of an impact for her.
I received this book Living Beyond Your Feelings by Joyce Meyer, compliments of Faith Words, a division of Hachette Book Group for my honest review and would rate this book a 5 out of 5 stars! A MUST READ!

So very helpful! I could feel a change in me as I read this book. It helped shed a lot of light on the different emotions, feelings & thoughts that I've been dealing with & have experienced.
I was able to relate to some of Mrs. Meyers' personality traits (and even my husband's to Mr. Meyers') as well. I'm thankful for the scriptures & real life experiences she placed in the book as well - they only help bring the message closer to home for me.
Also the section concerning faith was truly unexpected, but came at a much needed time in my life. I can remember standing at the Pharmacy counter in my clinic when the words I was reading in this section seemed to lift off the pages & into my spirit. At the same time I was listening to my ipod play a song concerning faith, God's promises & God's timing for our lives. I almost had to run out of the clinic as I began to feel a praise in my heart, a shout in my spirit & a run in my feet! I was walking & praising God & walking & crying as I thought about the goodness of Jesus. He's never too busy & always on time. He's never let me down!! It didn't matter to me that people were at or in their cars watching me (& probably wondering what was wrong or if I was crazy) but I had to give God His DUE PRAISE right then & there! I came home & had my husband read the same section - highlights & all - and praise God he received a breakthrough too, HALELUJAH!!!

I didnt like this book because it was mostly written with the citation from the Bible. Instead of learning what I really wanted to I was reading Bible citation and phrases.

I am a licensed counselor and this book will help women save what may be a good relationship. It helped me to realize how much women make decisions based on how they feel and how we destroy relationships because of this. Satan uses our intuition against us. Read this book and learn what God says is true.

This book has truly been an inspiration to me. God used Joyce to reach deep down into my heart not only to see myself but to heal my wounds and forgive others. I gave this book as a gift to someone that the enemy constantly uses to try to take my peace from me. Two weeks later she tells me she woke up to read the book and that she was thankful for my gift. I truly thought she would never touch it. But God always arrives on time and I love Him so much, I could not live with out Him! May God continue to use you Joyce and Bless you more each day! I recommend this book one hundred percent!

This book should have said it was an Autobiography. All it is, is story after story of this woman and her husband. I thought it would have had much more applied techniques and meat on the subject matter. Nice person, but not as good as I expected.

In this day and time, with all the confusion and selfishness going on in the world right now, this book, in my opinion, is a must read for every person who wants to make a difference in the world. And even if you don't want to make a difference, this book, if read with an open heart, will help you see how "getting outside yourself" and living a life of service is the only way to live. Happiness comes from doing for others and expecting nothing in return. If you are living beyond your feelings, you are not focused on "what's in it for me" and are not worried about your own feelings, but rather, the feelings of others. What a blessing.
