In their opening adventure, first graders Bradley, Brian, Nate. and Lucy enter a St. Patrick's Day contest that involves dressing up a leprechaun statue in a funny outfit in hopes of winning a prize. They have great fun decorating their leprechaun as a basset hound, but the next morning they are devastated to find the statue missing. A mysterious caller says that it was stolen by a college student named Lucky O'Leary, but just as they arrive to confront him, the police roll up and announce that they are arresting Lucky for the theft of other leprechauns gone missing around town. Lucky insists he is innocent, and the kids believe him. Lucky's brothers confess to the crime, but they say that the statues are now gone from the closet where they had stashed them, and they do not know who removed them. Who is the real thief? Pal, Bradley and Brian's dog, helps them to uncover the truth and find the leprechauns just in time for the contest.     very funny and mysterious

    great, it really kept my daughters interest and was enjoyable due to the mystery for March. It really worked with the theme we were doing educationally for the month.
