Overview

He's One Mistake She Plans To Forget.

As maid-of-honor to a friend who's gone Bridezilla, Winfred "Freddie" Barker is dealing with minute-to-minute drama from her crazy-extravagant wedding. So when the ceremony is over and the reception starts heating up, Freddie blows off steam with a little champagne-and a lot of the best man, Cleveland Alexander. It was definitely going to be just a one-night fling, `cause no woman in her right mind would fall for that man's arrogant, self-centered self, no matter how caramel-fine he is.

She's The One Woman He Can't Live Without.

As a hard-core bachelor, Cleveland Alexander was strictly all about beddin' and forgettin'. And the only reason he let Ms. Winfred Barker call his bluff was to put her stuck-up attitude in check. But once he sees how complicated and caring she really is, he'll do anything to help solve her problems-and convince her that the love between them is a lifetime of real.

Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly

Hodges (Let's Get It On) delivers a sizzling romance between sharp, demanding New Orleans hotel owner Winfred "Freddie" Barker and arrogant firefighter and confirmed bachelor Cleveland Alexander. After they meet at the wedding of their best friends, their champagne-fueled one-night stand turns into a tumultuous affair. Freddie's certain that Cleveland is commitment-phobic like her father, an unreliable ex-con, while Cleveland seethes at Freddie's explosive temper and scornful attitude. Various subplots, including Cleveland's difficulties at work and Freddie's frequent sparring with her friend Lillian, interrupt the swift pacing, but the sensual love scenes are plentiful and vividly executed, and the believable, three-dimensional characters keep things moving. I Also Recommend:

    Too Much!

There was too much sex in this story for me. I like when there is a sexual aspect in the story to make the main characters have more definition in the relationship, but this book reiterate that a lot and it was so repetitive. This book had a few moments where I did not want to finish reading simply because of the direction that it was heading. The two main characters Freddie and Cleveland was a very interesting set to behold. They were definitely different from the norm that I would read and that was something to read. They had the physical, but where was the truly special love. I personally did not feel it.Also, this book was way too long and some chapters could have been edited out. I would recommend it to someone else.

    Hot Stuff!

I don't read many romance novels because I find them to be long on sex and short on plot, but "More Than He Can Handle" was almost more than I could handle! defintely one of the best romance books I have read in a loooong time.
