Wahida Clark was born and raised in Trenton, New Jersey. She decided to start writing fiction while incarcerated at a women's federal camp in Lexington, KY.     I LOVE WAHIDA'S BOOKS SHE NEVA DISAPPOINTS!

    Man this was another one of wahida's best. Man i just finished the book and i had to hop on here to leave a review to let everyone know that this is a great read. Things turned out different then what i expected, and the way it ended i'm sure that there is gonna be another sequel to this as well wahida keep doing ya thing i love & cant get enough of your books!

    strong distinct voices...

    Payback With Ya Life is written with very strong, distinct voices. This is the sequel to Wahida Clark¿s Payback. Shan is facing turmoil in her life. Pregnant by a married man and a distraught by a friend¿s suicide, Shan would like to escape the confusion of her life. A person from her past convinces her not to leave town. What she does not know places her in danger. Clark leads her fans through twists and turns. She captures their attention and holds it to the very last page.

    Consequences

    Pregnant by a married man and having lost her best friend to suicide, Shan doesn't know if she's coming or going. With the support of her brother, Peanut, and a new man in her life, things are looking up. What goes up must come down. Old scores have a way of rejuvenating themselves. Someone wants payback in the worse way. PAYBACK WITH YA LIFE was a bit of a slow read compared to its predecessor, Payback Is A Mutha. At times it was hard to get a good grasp of the characters because they weren't really fleshed out in this book. Curious as to know how things would turn out, PAYBACK WITH YA LIFE held my attention but this was definitely not a page turner, which is what I'm used to with Wahida Clark's books. The elements that characterized her early material (drama, thug loving, good character development and great dialogue) aren't evident here. I know Wahida is with a new publishing company, which I'm sure was a good move for her, but I'm wondering if they had too much say in this story.

    Worth reading

    Another great book by Wahida. Once I started reading I couldn't put it down. It wasn't as grimey as Payback is a Mutha, but was definitely full of action!

    Wahida didn't disappoint...

    I really enjoyed this sequel. Wahida has a great talent of making her books unpredicable and real page turners. I sense another series with this story line...I guess I'll have to wait and see but Im hoping for it.

    New to WC, I don't usually like this type of Urban Fiction

    I happened upon this novel from another book club and I was shocked to find out that the author was in prison at the beginning of her writing career. So originally I just wanted to know what it was about. So I read them all! The ending left alot of things up in the air, so I was wondering if that was done to inspire faithful readers to continue to read her books or if it was really her style of writing. This book has alot going on.

    ended with a bang!

    This author knows what she is doing. I read both books and they were all that and more. I look forward to reading a third book to this, I know she can do it. Bad follows you once you start it, and Wahida proved that.

    i love this book

    I read up to five books every two weeks. I had to read this twice, and then read Payback Is A Mutha all over again. Don't sleep on neither of these books cause they are great!

    I LOOOOOVE THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!

    I have become a huge fan of wahida!!!!!! for a min i was so heated how things were going. But the end was so on point. I like how she keeps you guessing and thats what readers need these days. I can't wait till her next novel comes out. Cuz i know that i will love it just like the rest of her books.!!!!!

    Another Winner

    I thought the book one 'Payback Is A Mutha' was good, but this one right here was so darn good that I couldn't wait to share it with my reading partner. I didn't want her to miss a beat so I gave her the 1st book to re-read while I was reading Payback With Ya Life.
