I read this series backwards I read the second book first and like it so much had to go get the first one and I am so happy I did. Marshall and Elizabeth are so good together. It starts out so funny with Elizabeth thinking Marshall is gay due a misunderstanding on Elizabeth's part. The secondary characters are wonderful and really add to the story. Really enjoyed this book and will get the next in the series. Highly recommend.

I felt horrible today, but could not put my reader down. She had lots of action, funny misunderstanding that had you laughing, I raged with Lizzie and cried too. I love books that take you on an emotional roller coaster. The main character Elizabeth (Lizzie) has always felt out of place. I loved being part of the journey to her finding where she belonged and that she found that she had more strength than she knew she did. Marshall sounds like a very sexy, handsome man who is loving and caring toward all of the members of his pack. You have family drama, pack conflicts, and the evil guy you want to see lose. I recommend this book to everyone who loves shifter books. Now that I know I love Jacqueline Rhoades books; I will have to be on the look out for more. :)

This is really a wonderful book. I have never read this author before but about 20 pgs into this book I put my reader and ordered the second it is that good. Not going into detail about the plot but 1 human female 1 alpha and a whole town of wolfs its a great plot cuties funny and well written . I loved it.

Holy descriptionville!!! By the end of the first chapter I was so immersed in this story, based on the vivid and filling descriptions that Rhoades uses that I was standing in the middle of the woods with the characters. Even when I had to put the book down to go to work, I never left this world behind. You live this story, you do not read it. The situations are so real that you cannot help but laugh at the ridiculousness or hold your breath in nervousness, hoping that everyone will be alright.
This book is jam packed with action, romance, and true friendships. Not a moment is left dull and no event is ever skimmed over. Everything is clearly portrayed. The novel is also very well written. Rhoades has a way with words that makes you forget that you are reading, and not living, the events in question.
I fell in love with many of the characters the first time that they appeared. They were so vividly portrayed that you cannot help but know them as if they were a real life friend (and believe me, by the end, they may as well be). There were others that I hated with an intensity that should not be possible.
This novel is, by definition, a paranormal romance novel. What I especially appreciated about it was that it was different. Yes, boy falls for girl and they get together. That’s a given. However, the relationship between the pack Alpha and his mate is completely different from anything that I’ve ever read. The Alpha, Mate, pack relationship is also different. Every difference and similarity to the genre helps to pull the story forward and to pull you into the story.
This book is amazing as a standalone novel. Everything begins and ends within its pages. You can see the world outside of the novel, but don’t need to read it to thoroughly enjoy yourself while reading it. That said, am I ever glad that this is the first book in the series. I will definitely be following it as it is written.

Synopsis
Elizabeth Reynolds may have wanted to change her life by moving to a cabin in the woods; but she never expected her new life to begin with a crash and a rescue by the hot sherrif when she was in nothing but her undies. The friendly town takes her in and help her fix up her new place, and everything seems to be going just peachy. It's just too bad that the hottest man she's ever met is gay, and she can't stop running in to him.
Review
I wasn't a huge fan of the cover on this book, and had I not gotten a copy for review I probably wouldn't have read it. That would have been a travesty!
I really enjoyed this story. Sometimes I'm a bit reticent about romances as they can be more love scenes than plot, but while there were hints of the impending passion, there were only two real sex scenes in the book. The story was entertaining; it was fun to see Elizabeth grow into a sassy brassy woman. The town was full of interesting characters, and the love interest was more than just a hunk of meat or a knight in shinning armor. Plus, it's always fun to read a story where the woman gets to decide if SHE wants to be with the man. I've seen way too many stories that left the relationship up to the man lately.
Oh! The best tidbit is the fact that there was an actual explanation for the instantaneous love that appears in so many of the books, and Elizabeth had an issue with it. That may sound strange, but I sometimes wonder what in the world these characters are thinking when they meet someone and fall instantly in love.
My Recommendation
Not for children, the love scenes aren't super graphic, but are best saved for a mature reader. Due to the fact that there was an interesting plot and a sassy female lead, I give it a 4/5.

Another fine book by Ms. Rhoades, I must admit I liked her other books better, but that is simply because I tend to prefer vamps to shifter stories. I did find this one jam packed of action, romance and humor like her other stories. I liked Elizabeth she is a tough cookie and stands up for what she believes in and those she loves. She handled this strange new world she is thrust into with humor and a level headedness that was admirable. Marshall was a good pick for her although I kind of liked Charles too, I would like to read about him meeting his H.E.A. in a future book. This author writes great characters, people who feel familiar, and are complex. Not just the leads in her stories but the supporting characters as well. Her stories are well thought out and have a good pace to them. Now while shifter stories are not my first pick most of the time, I will be picking up future copies in this series to see what happens next. Well done.

Elizabeth Reynolds never thought of herself as beautiful or sexy just an ordinary Plain Jane. Her overbearing mother has driven Elizabeth to rebel with everything that she has and thensome thru small sacrifices. Elizabeth is hoping for a new start in Rabbit Creek will change her outlook on life. When Elizabeth is involved in a car crash her world turned upside down by the sight of a sexy stranger. Marshall Goodman didn't know what to expect upon meeting Elizabeth yet found himself fascinated all the same. Marshall thinks that Lizzie is just his kind of woman whether she knows it or not. Elizabeth wants to correct Marshall for using the nickname Lizzie yet can't seem to mind so very much either. Trouble is afoot in Rabbit Creek, Elizabeth finds herself smack dab in the middle of it. She learns that werewolves are real and not bothered by it either. Marshall and company all marvel over Elizabeth's easy acceptance that she's living in a community of werewolves. Elizabeth keeps on surprising the people of Rabbit Creek. Who is causing trouble in Rabbit Creek? Will Marshall admit his feelings? Will Elizabeth move out of her comfort zone? I love reading about wolves in any form! I love the uniqueness of wolf lore and traditions presented in the story. Elizabeth is such a wonderful relatable character that I would like to call a friend just by her nature alone. Marshall is ruggedly handsome, loyal, honest, and hopeful old soul of a man. What makes this story so special and unique is that the characters from beginning to end were so real and honest how could you not love them. I look forward to enjoying more of this author's work in the future.

Overview
