    High Drama in the High Desert

    It's all here. Vivid imagery, swift pacing, pitch-perfect dialogue-everything you'd expect from a successful screenwriter like Daniel Pyne. But in his debut novel, Twentynine Palms, you get to see what isn't evident on the big screen: Pyne's prowess as a prose stylist. This is a tour de force in California noir.
