We don't hear much about angels nowadays. When we do, they have often been secularized or commercialized. Instead of ministering angels who reveal God’s love and mercy, we hear about “angel investors” or we gobble up foil-wrapped chocolate angels at Christmas. But Joan Wester Anderson trusts that angels still walk among us.

Overview

We don't hear much about angels nowadays. When we do, they have often been secularized or commercialized. Instead of ministering angels who reveal God’s love and mercy, we hear about “angel investors” or we gobble up foil-wrapped chocolate angels at Christmas. But Joan Wester Anderson trusts that angels still walk among us.

On mountain slopes, on desolate rural highways, in airplane cockpits—these are just a few of the many places where ordinary people have felt the very real presence and power of God’s angels at work in their lives. In this twenty-fifth anniversary edition of her New York Times best-selling book Where Angels Walk, Joan Wester Anderson (the “Angel Lady”) offers dozens of reasons—stories, actually—for us to reconsider our rather limited view of angels. In addition to the original collection of angelic encounters, several new stories have been included.

Anderson, who holds traditional Christian beliefs about angels, was careful to select only those stories that had a ring of truth to them. But are they true? Do heavenly visitors really walk among us? Open this book—along with your heart—before you decide.

This book is comprised of short true stories. My husband and I would read a story together every night before we went to bed. They brought tears to our eyes, and filled our heart with happiness. This book is wonderful and we can't wait to read it to our son.

Enjoyable to read Joan Wester has very carefully compiling these remarkable stories, also does not establish judgments or analysis around them, thus taking the anéctodatas interpretations and leaving the reader himself. The book beautifully built a very human quality to believe in something greater, faith, hope, goodness and altruism. One may or may not believe in divine angels incarnate, but what is true is that goodness is real, it exists between us and other natural beings, and materializes in surprising ways. Love, altruism and kindness are powerful forces that transform and save lives, so you can not be the same as you were when you experienced it. Many times, when we are receptive to the love of neighbor, we obey an internal mandate, which comes from our connection to a source of higher consciousness, and then we act as angelic messengers. My gratitude to the Publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to review the book.
