8 Great Cookbooks for Young Chefs

With all the tempting junk food out there, it’s never too early to get your kids excited about healthy eating, and the best place to do that is right in your own kitchen. Studies have shown that kids who cook at home are more likely to reach for nutritious snacks when they’re hungry. Plus, children who know their way around the kitchen are twice as likely to serve mom and dad breakfast in bed. (I made that last statistic up, but a parent can dream, right?)
As easy as it would be to throw some vegetables on the counter and bark at them to start chopping, this isn’t Hell’s Kitchen, and your tiny sous chefs will probably need a little more support and guidance. Here are 8 books to get them started on dishes they’ll have fun making with you.

Each of the 19 recipes are written two ways: once in text, and once in comic-book-style pictures, so even non-readers can follow along.
