The Best eBook Series of 2025 (So Far)
eBooks are often the perfect way to binge read a series—especially when there’s an eBook bundle that collects multiple books in one file. Think of it as a much lighter digital version of a boxed set. But even when there’s not a bundle, you can easily bring a multi-book series with you on a trip without weighing down your luggage, as long as your NOOK is charged or you have the B&N NOOK App installed. I’ve gathered up some eBooks released this year that are great authors and series to get lost in.
The Fiftieth Annual Hunger Games are about to begin, so it’s time to return to Panem for this second prequel from Suzanne Collins, and this is just as action-packed as the other novels. Whether you’re a longtime fan or maybe just discovering the series, it feels like the right time to reread the original trilogy and the previous prequel, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, and what better way to do it than with an eBook bundle? Did we mention this is less heavy than carrying them all in your bag?
What happened to young Elphaba before her witchy powers took hold in Wicked? Almost 30 years after the publication of the original novel, Gregory Maguire helps us get to know the girl behind the witch in this dazzling coming-of-age tale. And, of course, after reading this short tale, why not dive into all four books that make up the Wicked Years Series, including the phenomenon that was the basis for the hit Broadway musical, Wicked, and two major motion pictures?
Cowboy, take me away. . .to Meadowlark, Wyoming, and the Rebel Blue Ranch. Since I can’t actually go there, I’m happy to spend time with the books in this swoon-worthy series that went viral on BookTok. It might be a little bit sad the series has come to an end with book four, but dry those tears because this series is currently being developed for television, and Soul Searching: A Sweetwater Peak Novel, is the first book in a new series coming this fall.
After captivating readers with thrilling action, heart stopping romance, and a war-torn world in which rebellion is the only path to freedom in the Shatter Me series, Tahereh Mafi is back with a new book set in the same universe. If you haven’t read the previous series, don’t worry—you can still jump in with Watch Me, but I’m fairly certain you’ll want to go back to read the original series (and all of her books) while you wait for the next installment in this new series.
Rick Atkinson recently released the second book in his Revolution Trilogy, The Fate of the Day. It’s natural to pair that with the first in that trilogy, The British Are Coming, which tells the story of the very start of the bloody war between the British Empire and the newly established American colonies. While you wait for the third book, we’ll remind you of his Liberation Trilogy, which recounts the hard-fought battles that led to Allied victory in World War II. Atkinson brings great drama and exquisite detail to the retelling of these battles and gives life to a cast of characters making this the most vividly told and brilliantly researched World War II narrative to date.
I think it’s fair to say we’re wild about Emily Wilde. The first book was one of our previous Barnes & Noble Monthly Picks. Last year, we named the second book one of our Best Science Fiction & Fantasy Books of 2024. So, it’s no surprise we loved the heartwarming last book, released earlier this year. If you’re a fan of supernatural love stories and banter that’ll make you blush, this series is perfect for you. Other than Emily, there are more books to explore by this author, and we are already excited about Agnes Aubert’s Mystical Cat Shelter, her new cozy fantasy coming early 2026.
If it feels like everyone is talking about Kennedy Ryan, it’s because they are. Romance authors Colleen Hoover, Talia Hibbert, Abby Jimenez, and Emily Henry are all fans. . .and so are we. The Skyland series follows three best friends—Yasmen, Soledad, and Hendrix—and is full of steamy romance, beautifully drawn characters, and complex family dynamics. Find out why Entertainment Weekly says Kennedy Ryan is, “One of the finest romance writers of our age.”
A nerd must fight powerful spirits and aliens all vying for the secret power of his “family jewel,” so who better to fight alongside him than his high school crush and a spirit granny?! Right away, we knew the Dandadan series was going to be quite a ride. Before the year is through, three more books will be released, and this summer brings the second season of the popular anime to Netflix. This feels like the perfect time to get into the world of secret crushes and paranormal battles in this fun comedy romance manga series.
Whether you’ve been a fan since book one was published back in 2010, or maybe the (in my opinion, excellent) Slow Horses television series made you want to dive into the Slough House Series novels, there are plenty of novels and novellas to catch up on. Mick Herron’s relatable gang of misfit spies returns in a brand-new adventure this fall. Quirky and suspenseful, Clown Town will grip you from the start.
It goes without saying that we love books, but a book about books? Those always get our attention. A librarian with a mysterious past, a war hero with a secret, and the heist of a magic painting—that’s how CJ Archer starts her fan-favorite Glass Library Series. Set in 1920s England, this historical fantasy mystery series recently came to an epic conclusion in the sixth book, The Journal of a Thousand Years. If you’re just discovering this author we’ve raved about in the past, we also recommend the related Glass and Steele Series (you do not need to have read those books in order to enjoy this series) or her cozy Cleopatra Fox Mysteries.
