Words, Words, Wordle: Books to Read After You Finish Your Squares

If you’re at all on Facebook or Twitter, you’ve by now heard of Wordle. If you haven’t, it’s a daily puzzle game where you try to figure out the word of the day … think Wheel of Fortune but you’re in your PJs and there isn’t a Vanna White in sight. It’s pretty fun and the best part is that you can’t spend your whole day on it because, again, there’s only one word a day. Here’s where you go to play … not to be a pusher or anything … but seriously, not to get redundant but totally to get redundant, it is pretty fun.

The thing we love about Wordle is obviously that it’s word-based and since we’re all logophiles, we wanted to give you a few of the best stories where a love of words inspired an author to write a book that we just can’t put down.

We’re also throwing in some romance too because not only is Wordle a game for lovers of words, but it also started as a gift of love from one lover to another … and since Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, let’s lean in on all the love we can find in this world, shall we?

This delightful page-turner will make readers think about the power of language, who decides which words get written into our shared history, and whose stories may have been left out.

If there was ever a book that truly put into words the sheer magic of storytelling, this is it. And that magic is captured perfectly in this story of two women working together — one a reclusive author, the other, a troubled young biographer — to unlock their pasts in order to confront their destiny. A clever mystery with flawlessly timed plot twists, suspense, and unforgettable characters. Eerie and at times unsettling, this ghostly tale is most beguiling.
