Above the Bridge: A Short Story

Joe's world hit rock bottom when his wife and child were killed in a car accident. He lost the house, car, job, and the loves of his life. Depression took everything, leaving him living on the streets. A ray of hope shines on him through the innocence of a child, only to be quickly extinguished by a dark stranger. Good things happened to good people, or so he'd always believed. Had Karma dealt him out, or should he hold on for one more day?
