This is one woman's search to find the soul and to find home. Sophie Silverman grew up in a Jewish neighborhood in Detroit, Michigan, in the 1950s, a time of political, racial and social unrest she was shielded from.

As a teen, Sophie traveled to Birmingham, Alabama, where she witnessed acts of blatant racism.

This experience propelled her to try to fix what was broken in her life and in the lives of others.
