20150211 He Hit Me Back First!
The author, Eva D. Fugitt, writes that children have the right to learn that they do have a choice, how to make choices, that choices have consequences, both physically and emotionally. Children have the right to learn the skills of self-discipline. Children have the right to learn that they do have a will, that the wise, good use of their will is as equally important as love. They have the right to learn that they have a “Wise Part Within” that they can trust to know what is right for themselves and others.

He Hit Me Back First! is a practical handbook of skills, including examples, worksheets and activities for teachers and parents that help children learn, use and live these rights of choice.

Unique Features:

• Emphasizes the development of the will as an essential function of the self and as the source of all choices and decisions.

• Introduces the qualities of the will: dynamic power, discipline, concentration, determination, persistence, courage, and organization.

• How to change habitual negative speaking to positive speaking.

• How the child learns to consciously choose what he will do, how he will do it, with awareness of the consequences of the choice. “I am willing to... because...”

• Self-correcting questions teachers and parents can use in the classroom and home.

The happiest moments of the author’s teaching she says, were “seeing the children grow in the joy of learning as they discovered that they really did have a choice, the choices could have happy consequences and they felt good about themselves.”
