2040: The Guardian
Someone is stalking Fiona Cunningham.
A social reformer, she is seeking her party’s nomination for President in the 2040 election. She has stirred powerful forces not only in opposition to her efforts, which include a nationwide ban on weapons and dismantling the prison system, but also because of a lingering prejudice against women as leaders.
Almost immediately, Fiona becomes aware of a malignant presence shadowing her every move. Through the use of technology and her own secret psychic gifts, Fiona and her Secret Service agent, Manny Overgaard, set out to trap the potential assassin.
This quest leads the candidate deeper and deeper into intrigue. The cat and mouse game she plays with the assassin is tracked by hostile elements within the media, raising questions about exactly who and what her enemies are. There is much more at stake than the Presidency, or even her own life. Risking all, Fiona undertakes one more battle for human decency.
