This 460 page book was better edited than most. This murder mystery is a free book and part of a series. There are two recipes in this novel. There is no cursing or sex. The murder is not gory. There is some violence. I did not really care for the plot, or the characters. I got tired of reading about the diner and what people were cooking, eating and how much they loved their spouses and or partners. These were taken to extremes. It is a free standing book with an adequate conclusion. I agree with the reviewer who commented on the book as just okay. For readers fifteen and up. AD

This is one of those books which has several recipes--Chili, Oven Baked Chicken, and Pulled Pork. It takes place in North Carolina, one of our favorite states. The main setting is Gracious Moose Diner, run by four generations of Moose's family. The title is a play on words, since the murder victim shows up in the freezer of the diner. A complication is that a number of businessmen have had communication from the victim, threatening to take their businesses. Victoria, the granddaughter, and Moose help the sheriff solve the crime. A book club might enjoy this,
