A Coat For The Moon And Other Jewish Talesby Howard Schwartz, Barbara Rush
In this collection of fifteen classic Jewish folktales, the authors share some of the richest stories of Jewish tradition from countries the world over, including France, Turkey, Israel, Yemen, Egypt, and Iraq, thus opening up new worlds for young readers. Each tale, magnificently illustrated with a pen-and-ink drawing, reveals a specific Jewish value handed down from one generation to the next.

I am very glad I bought it. My children ( 2 1/2 and 4) enjoyed the stories: they are short, unusual, not scary, sometimes very funny, written in a lovely language and the reading can be easily adjusted to the age of the child. They also produce a lot of discussions with the kids, both on Jewish culture and on the general subjects of life. I thought the black and white illustrations were exquisite but not colorful enough to attract the kid's attention - but quite the opposite, my children enjoyed catching the details of the stories in the drawings.
