READ ALL OF MS. LAURENS BOOKS SO I UNDERSTAND ANY AUTHOR WHO CONSISTANTLY WRITES WONDERFUL BOOKS CAN HAVE WRITERS' BLOCK. THIS WAS A BORING-ONE UNRESOLVED STORY LINE-ROMANCE ON A SCALE OF 1-10 WAS A 0.5-THANK GOODNESS IT'S NOT A MANY PAGED BOOK.I GAVE IT 2 STARS IN DEFERENCE OF HER PRIOR WRITINGS. I FEEL IF THIS BOOK WAS OFFERED TO A PUBLISHER WITHOUT THE AUTHORS' REPUTATION IT WOULD NEVER BEEN ACCEPTED BY ANY PUBLISHING HOUSE.

I've read many books by Stephanie Laurens and this one is definitely boring. I didn't care for the characters and the plot was just awful.

I usually rush out to get a Stephanie Laurens book. There was something off about this one. It just did not grab me like her other books. The heroine was a little disappointing. She was built up to have this great spirit but very little fire was shown in this story.

SLOW AND BORING! The story dragged, not quite up to par. The only section that was sort of exciting was the house party. I really don't what else I could say about the book.

It was so unremarkable I don't even remember the characters names. The story is nothing to comment on. It was utterly dull. I can only be glad that it was a short book. This book was so awfull I found myself checking the cover to make sure it was the right author's name. Then I thought maybe it was another Stephanie Laurens so I flipped to the back of the book but her picture was there. If you want to read her book don't pick this one.

This is one of Stephanie's early regency novels. Those harsh reviews with references to her consistently "wonderful books" may want to be thankful that it was published and permitted her to develop her talent. I too enjoy some of her stories more than others, but I am very appreciative of every one of her books.
