Calla's always wanted to be a Guardian, but her mom always refused. Until one summer when a fae breaks into their house. Now she's scrambling to catch up, but moving to a new school (yet again) is never easy, even if she's determined to prove she belongs there. But things quickly go wrong, and she finds her view of the world shattering. She keeps turning to an unlikely new friend for help, but will he stabilize her world or send it spinning further? This is one of those books that no matter what you do right, everything goes wrong. I usually don't like that kind of thing, but this was pretty good once the story got going. I didn't care for Calla at first -- she seemed a bit fluffy, and after Violet, I was kinda expecting another kick-butt, strong female lead -- but circumstances quickly fix that. Otherwise, this book was great, and a great start in the next leg of the story. Oh, and Calla is Ryn's little sister! That was a neat little jump. :)

I've spent a month reading the series and a total of two days reading this book. I read a lot, but typically don't enjoy it. With this series I truly have. From the first page of book one I stumbled upon on an app called Wattpad, to the last page of this book. I haven't been able to get enough. The literature is flawless and the storyline is involved and intricate. Every time I think I have a character or a plot line figured out it takes a twist. Amazing series and amazing character development.

Ten years has passed since The Faerie War and we now follow Calla, Ryn’s sister. Calla wants to be a guardian but her parents are worried for her. She has the Griffin ability that she has a hard time controlling. It also doesn’t help that those with this ability are being watched closely. When they finally consent to the guardian training Calla is involved in an incident that leaves her ability exposed and although she was supposed to be safe at the Guild it’s looking like someone is out to get her. Thankfully there is Chase, who she can trust, right? I recommend reading the first three books in the series. There is a big back story that you will be missing out on and it’s good to know who Vi and Ryn are and what they went through. Calla is such a great, strong character. She was held in an unseelie dungeon when she was younger. This has led her to want to be a guardian to save others from her fate. Then there is Chase, Calla is drawn to him since he isn’t affected by her ability like others. He also seems to be a great friend, something that she could use. I can’t go into any more or I’ll give away the story. This is a great story to follow in the Creepy Hollow series. It feels just like I never left after The Faerie War. Make sure to pick up a copy of this series, you won’t be disappointed. I received a The Faerie Guardian for free from Refracted Light Reviews in exchange for an honest review.

**This review is done in conjuction with NerdGirl. For more info, please visit them on Facebook** Another Creepy Hollow book, and another success in my book! :) I've always been a fan of the Fae, and Rachel does such a great job with her character development and world building, that coming back for the next book is like coming back to your favorite vacation spot. It's familiar, it's a happy place, and I'm so glad for book 4! This time we're following Calla, who is the sister to our previous main character, Ryn! When author's pass a story to a new character, it's often hard to make that transition stick in the reader's hearts, but by keeping our main characters from the first three around in this one, it didn't feel like a loss, even if 10 years had passed. It felt like more of a growth of the world. We get to see other people and other adventures! Much better then ending it at book 3! Now, speaking strictly of this novel, I loved Calla! She's smart and sassy, and a little kick assy (Is that a thing?). I kinda like her a little more then Vi, which surprised me, but she's written so well. She jumps off the page, and really has a vibrant personality. As for the story, Calla's world seems to be full of secrets and mysteriously handsome men, well man! I couldn't predict where this story was going from the beginning, and every plot twist just made my head spin, in a good way. This adventure is fast paced, exciting, and so addictive to read. Every-time I thought I knew the characters, something came out, and it was mind blowing! All in all, fantastic book. New characters are just as engaging, if not more so then the original, and the writing just keeps getting better! Rachel is an author to watch for sure! In a final note, there is a MASSIVE cliffhanger, so don't get angry, it's a huge surprise, and it hurts, but that just means we're in store for another book and I cannot wait! :) *I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Okay, let's get right to it: this book blew my mind. I am so in love with this series! Rachel is really an incredible writer. She writes such relatable characters that I instantly click with, and they're so well rounded and unique! And she has once again created a couple that I just cannot help but ship with Calla and Chase! And the ending, just, ugh. It absolutely caught me by surprise, and I'm usually pretty good about seeing things coming. Plot. Twist. I need the next book right away, or I may explode. I have a love/hate relationship with that ending... but mostly a love relationship. It's been a while since I've read a good plot twist, and ahhh, so refreshing. This book gets all five of those stars! An excellent new chapter in the Creepy Hollow story!

A Faerie's Secret (Creepy Hollow #4) by Rachel Morgan After begging her parents for years, Calla Larkenwood is finally given the opportunity to go to school to become a guardian. Unfortunately, it does not end up being everything she thought it would. A Faerie's Secret by Rachel Morgan is another incredible story in the Creepy Hollow Series! A Faerie's Secret takes place seven years after The Faerie War. Don’t worry Calla’s big brother Ryn and Vi still played a role in the series. It was interesting learning more about Calla now that she is getting older. She has had some difficulties in her life having to hide her talent from the Guild and overcome her childhood abduction. She is smart and brave. I felt bad that so many people give her a hard time. She has a serious case of Claustrophobia that sometimes puts her in less than desirable situations. She is a likable character that never seems to catch a break. I liked Chase. He was mysterious and helpful to Calla. I enjoyed their conversations and interaction. Rachel Morgan continued to create a vibrant world in this series. She makes it easy to visualize the surroundings and characters. The plot was amazing. So many unexpected things happen. The story was thrilling and oh-my-gosh-the-ending! Let’s just say I cannot wait to read the next book. If you haven’t tried this series, I would recommend starting with the first book. Calla Larkenwood thought she only had to keep her Griffin Ability a secret, but other secrets threaten to turn her life upside down in Rachel Morgan's A Faerie's Secret. Although not quite as kick-butt as her brother's wife Vi, Calla has her moments and will do anything in her power to help, even use her special gift when she's not supposed to. I found it refreshing to have a main character be naive and positive, even to a fault. It says a lot about Calla, especially since her past was not all sunshine and roses. Morgan carries the theme of secrets and their destructive powers throughout the novel. This fast-paced story quickly gripped me in its clutches, and I had to find out what would happen to Calla and even more importantly the secrets of the hot tattoo artist she has befriended. The betrayals and secrets revealed spiral to a whirlwind of an ending that will leave readers breathless and craving the next book in the Creepy Hollow series. If you're a fan of the previous Creepy Hollow books, then you need to read A Faerie's Secret by Rachel Morgan. If you haven't read them yet, then what are you waiting for?

Once again, Rachel Morgan flawlessly brings you back into the magical atmosphere of the faerie world. This time Calla Larkenwood (Ryn’s little sister) is our protagonist. Calla as a main character is able to stand on her own.  She’s charming, funny, quick witted, smart, sweet and simply lovable. However that doesn’t mean Ms. Morgan neglects the characters we fell in love with. She gives us enough face time with Vi and Ryn (not to mention a couple of others) to quench some of the thirst we have from missing them without overshadowing Calla’s debut. It’s such an amazing book that I gobbled it up in one sitting. *Spoiler Alert (but not really)* Although it does end with a cliff hanger, that’s to be expected - considering there are 5 more books to go. My only complaint is that I’ll have to wait for the next one when all I want to do is continue reading Calla’s story. The Creepy Hollow series is a great read. I recommend it to anyone who can get their hands on it, loves books about faeries, or simply enjoys phenomenal storytelling

Awesome. Spectacular. Enthralling. This book was a fantastic, fast-paced, thrill ride, that kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. I couldn't wait to jump back into the world of Creepy Hollow, and I was even more excited for Calla's story. She's the perfect mix of sweet and sassy, with her heart in the right place and a fierce determination, making her one of my favorite characters.  Filled with action and adventure, this book did not disappoint in the least. But, it was the mystery of what was really going on with Chase, and who he was after, that really held me captive. With the revelation of her mother's secret past, so Calla found herself in the middle of the drama, tied to whatever mission Chase was on, and the two of them were brought closer by all the chaos they experienced - from the Labyrinth to Saber's attacks and then some. There is still plenty of mystery surrounding Amon and what his ultimate plan is, and I cannot wait for this story to continue. If that wasn't enough, the ending blew me away. Who knew that one word...one name...could leave me feeling like I had just been hit with a Stun spell! I need more NOW!!
