Overview

A Forever Kind of Love by Mona Ingram

If Charlie had known that ranchers came in such a delicious package, she'd have visited her aunt a long time ago. Jason's last girlfriend went back to the city, leaving him suspicious of anyone who didn't grow up on the prairies. Sparks fly between the two, and to make matters even more interesting, their romance echoes an enduring love from the past. Can Charlie and Jason put aside their differences in time to find romance – both for themselves and for the long-ago lovers?

"I've always been kind of weird." Charlie watched Kyle's eyes as she spoke, afraid of the rejection she was positive would be there. "It's hard to put it into words. I can sometimes tell how people are feeling." She laughed, but it was a dry, mirthless sound. "Don't worry. It's not like I'm a mind reader or anything, whatever that is. What happens with me is that I can sense people's emotions." She nodded, as though reconfirming it in her own mind. Kyle's eyes narrowed, but he was still sitting there. That had to be a good sign. Gaining confidence, she continued. "Like that day you came to pick me up from the bus." She paused. "Was that only yesterday? It seems like ages ago. Anyway, I had the strongest feeling that there were a lot of places you'd rather be."

"Only because I had so many chores to do." He looked at her, startled. "But yes, that's what I was thinking."

She nodded again. "Well that used to be the extent of it. But recently it's been getting worse." She lowered her head, shaking it in denial. "Wait a minute. That's not exactly true. I don't think of it as being worse at all. It's getting stronger. A few times I've sensed people around me." Her voice softened. "Like in Aunt Janelle's house, I can feel the emotions of the people who used to live there." She tilted her head to one side, groping for the right words to help him understand. "And tonight, I was someone else. It's hard to explain, but I could sense her so strongly that for a moment I became her." She turned slowly to see Kyle watching her with a faint smile on his lips. "Well what do you think? Am I totally certifiable? Looney Tunes? Should I be locked away?" The words tumbled out. She was babbling, knowing as she did that she was talking to delay his response. But she needed to know, so she clamped her mouth shut, watching him expectantly.

If you want a 3-5 Hanky Ghostly Love Story, you have found it. This is definitely enjoyable but not just that it is totally something to believe in. A Love For Life, throughout not just your own but goes on throughout time as well. I wonder if it is not only real, but based on something that actually happened. I believe in all that woowoo stuff, been there, done that in fact. But although I can sense and feel all that around me including experiencing cold chills and cold spots indicating someone or something is there. Again with others that can and could actually see who or what it was, they would say, oh by the way she is sitting in/on next to you. As my teeth are chattering I believe it. Then say, hey tell her to move off me away a bit I am shivering all over. They laugh but comply. It gets warmer and thaw out but say Thank You to her for moving. This happened many years ago in a Chicago suburb when I was visiting. This is about a young woman on the verge of eloping with her cowboy in the 1930's but he died in a rodeo accident. This is not only their story but of her namesake descendant now and her own love life trials and tribulations. I gave it a 5 Star and it deserves it. Now want to check other books by this author. I highly recommend it especially if you love this genre as I do. Barring my own ESP adventures and experiences most do not. But it made this a much better read because of it. Find out for yourself. This story was so realistic that I felt like a part of it and as if I personnaly knew each of the characters. Excellent story line, pacing, and subject matter. I will read as many more of her stories as I can find!
