Characters are fun and even a short story is well developed.

When Verity Long’s sister, Melody, asks her to help an old school friend with a ghostly problem, she accepts even though Frankie (her ghostly partner) would rather give it a pass. The friend, Julie, can’t afford to pay them but as the owner of a second-hand store, she offers to trade Verity a much-needed kitchen set for her assistance in stopping a poltergeist from wrecking her business. Rather than an angry spirit, the poltergeist in the "New For You" store is that of a heartbroken soldier from WW2 who is trying to reconnect with his one true love. This was a sweet, poignant mystery for Verity to unravel along with some of the ghostly others around Sugarland, Tennessee. A very satisfying novella to tide the reader over between books one and two in the "Southern Ghost Hunter Mysteries" series.

A quick story to fill in the gap between books. A very quick read, but still good. None of the big mystery and suspense that is in the full length books of this series. Not much of the comedy we normally get either. Still recommend if you love the series. I received this book as a gift.

A fun short story with Verity (graphic design and unexpected ghost whisperer), her little pet skunk, Frank (ghostly gangster of prohibition era), and a cast of many. Verity is dead broke and an outcast in her town for angering the most influential family there. But the owner of the local second-hand shop needs help with a destructive force which has recently been causing havoc. Verity meets more ghosts (with Frank's reluctant help), and embarks on solving the mystery.

This novella has a bittersweet story. I really enjoyed reading it and it made my heart feel good, but it was still a little sad. I will be on pins and needles waiting for the next story!

What a great addition to Angie Fox's new series the "Southern Ghost Hunter Mysteries"!  I fell in love with Verity and Frankie (and Lucy) in the first book "Southern Spirits". Well Verity and Frankie  are back with a new adventure and it is as exciting and enjoyable as their first one. This time they are helping the friend of Verity's sister who has a bit of a ghost problem in her resale shop. Things are getting moved around in a certain knickknack case, but she has no idea why. So in charge Verity and Frankie to the rescue, for no charge (which does not please Frankie). I won't reveal the ending, but all I can say is that love and kindness will always win the day. Enjoy this treat. I'm heading back to read it again.

a little follow-up to Angie's full length novel southern Spirits. Short but still showcases Verity's sweetness and relash with her sister. Need more than "mention"of ellis tho'/Frankie was in it more.

Angie Fox has done it again! Verity is back with Frankie in tow. The duo are once again taking on specters in the ghostly realm. in true form Angie Fox once again brings us a love story.  Verity with the help of Frankie reunites a soldier who died at war with the woman who was to be his bride. Through the events that unfold we see a beautiful story of two lives so entwined that even in death the connection is still felt. Fox shows us a bit of history with the soldiers placing bottle caps on top of picture frames showing the many soldiers who never made it home. This short story I feel is going to add very nicely to the world that Angie Fox started with Southern Spirits!

This is a charming follow up to the first book in this series. You don't have to read the first one before this one, but it will add some additional depth to the characters. The main character is asked to solve an apparently ghost related bit of vandalism in her second hand store. By following her instincts about what is really important, she does just that, but in an unexpected manner. A lovely, heart-warming read.

A Ghostly Gift by Angie Fox This simple little ghost hunting story had me crying at one point. Happiness and warm fuzzies. A short story done really well. Verity has become a ghost hunter, mostly by accident and against her better judgement. But she needs to earn money so a ghost hunter she has become with the help of a gangster ghost that is tied to her ancestral home. "I wasn't even their type and I felt like that last Pork Chop on the plate."And humor is always a plus for me.I recieved a copy of this book from the author.

A Ghostly Gift, by Angie Fox is book 1.5 in her The Southern Ghost Hunters Mystery series.  Note: I received this book from the author for an honest review. A Ghostly Gift is a short, sweet book. I enjoyed the little pit-stop with Verity and Frankie the Ghost. You got to love a snarky ghost. The worst part was it was too short, I want more. This book is also a good way to see if this series is something you will like. The actual first book is Southern Spirits. A Ghostly Gift can be read in one sitting, and a way to get to know the main likeable characters.

Verity is back when her sister coerces her into helping a friend. Julie’s store has always been haunted but now the southern spirits are causing costly damage to the wares. Of course, there is a ghost in distress and a solution that only Verity can provide. A lovelorn soldier and a lost engagement ring are the basis for a heartfelt love story. This little short story packs a lovely punch. I craved more from Frankie, the gangster ghost, but he made himself felt with his snark and old-time chivalry.

This was a nice short story. It starts after book 1 of the series Southern Spirits, which you should definitely read first so you can fully understand everything. Has love, adventure, mystery, what more can you ask for. Can't wait for more from the series. I have high hopes for the Southern Ghost Hunters series.

This book is a novella that is a nice diversionary tale that allows further insight into Verity and Frankie as characters.  They set off on a new adventure to solve a mystery haunting an antique store. This a cute tale about true love and compassion for others. Overall I enjoyed the story and I look forward to future adventures.
